All I want from Sony is $399, free online, no restrictions on used games, no DRM, and a robust and diverse set of exclusives. Do that for me and we have a deal.

If EA decides to make every PS4 call their servers a la SimCity what can Sony really do? Not approve them?

Make each 3rd party stand on their own if they want always online DRM, let them take the negative PR and feel the lost sales themselves when they handicap their own games. That's all I'm asking for.

Sony can't unilaterally tell publishers they CAN'T have online DRM. Just don't be an enabler, or worse, the #1 pusher on the block like Microsoft is choosing to be. Let them go it alone and see how gamers respond.

Then when the cold sting of shit sales slap them in the face we can get this online DRM bullshit over once and for all.

Exactly. Sony has put a stake in the ground regarding free online play. Changing course now would look silly, and at a time like this it just gives them one more advantage over Microsoft.

But they have so many other features that are great, like PS+, and now they'll have party chat, etc, that they'll still pull in a lot of people to pay for those services.
