Gamescom for the past couple years has been a bit better than E3 - especially in terms of pacing. You should at least expect that much.

Ah, the good old days. I remember it like it was only a few weeks ago.

It's an apples and oranges comparison though. Naughty Dog is literally 10 to 15 times bigger, iirc, than Team Ico. Doesn't excuse their lack of output and inefficiency though.

If I'm remembering right, the discussion centered around how inefficient their Japanese studios have been. While teams like Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch are churning out hits, Polyphony took forever to get a proper GT on PS3 and we're still waiting for The Last Guardian. Someone's gotta crack the whip.

Everything I've heard this week has been bad news in terms of announcements. Everything is getting pushed back. I'll explain why later... I'm about to leave work.

I was actually lurking when it happened. The first response was a genuine comment by a user saying he was going to watch it in the tub. The next response and many more following Yes, And-ed it and -voila- a meme born organically before our eyes.

I expect at least one big studio announcement for PS4. Either from Santa Monica or Media Molecule or even Guerilla Games other team. As for other announcements it's probably more on games we know about, PSN games and a casual game.

I'm really curious about that one. I'm hoping from some gems at or near launch. Preferably something light hearted, with same screen multiplayer. I want to play my PS4 with my real life friends!

I keep reading this kind of comment and thinking there should be one of those dotted up marketing maps of the world showing the areas where PS4 wins, Xbox One wins, and that small set of islands where Wii U won.

What cracks me up is the speed and ferocity with which the haters jump onto any rumored bad news, only to be roundly laughed at when the rumor turns out to be false (See: The 3.5GB of RAM to OS rumor and the recent "Sony wants to steal indie IPs" rumor).

I've been really rooting for MM's 3D user creation focused title (I really think what they showed in February is the path they're going) to be shown proper at Gamescom. A surprise new game would be sweet as well. So really I just want one new first-party announcement at Gamescom for PS4. That would be enough. Uncharted definitely makes sense for the VGAs.
