Final Fantasy XIV: ARR - Beta Phase 4 Aug 16-19. [open beta now over]

Apparently anyone that got through earlier and was redirected to the members account page setup an EU account. That's exactly what happened to me and I got stuck with an EU code.

There is no way to change it, either. I'm not sure what in the actual hell to do from here. Every time I visit the members page it's pulling data from the .eu link even though I'm on the NA site. Going to profile redirects me to the eu link. This is seriously screwed.

How does this even happen?

Saw this posted on the FFXIV game page on the SE members thingie. Don't know how legit it is though.

repost from below: got this from a guild mate of mine thought you all should know: I've spoken to SE support again directly, this is the info fed to me:

Currently even though the page is live to the public, it's not actually working as intended.
Don't use the http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/ (or na / jp) link(s) as it won't work.
Everyone will be notified, that entered their email address into the official site previously as to when the page is actually 'actively functioning' to redeem your codes.
The XXXXX-XXX-XXXXXX-XXX , 18 digit code you receive from your retailer you purchased the pre-order from IS the code you use @ http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/ but only to be used when the community (as a whole) is notified via email that the page is up and functioning officially for use. Support advised me to advise anyone, not to use the page until said notification email is received (he approximated within the next 24/48 hours)
I asked them "Is my code now void..." because the game is now registered against my SE account but on PC instead of PS3, they reassured me that the code will not be void and to try it again when the page is active. If it doesn't work, then to phone them directly and they will address it.

Everyone should probably wait until we get word from Square it is ready to use. Early access is still some days away so the rush while it's not quite ready/stable to get your code just so you can continue to wait is a bit... silly.

I would be safe and just be patient since you have to be patient until Saturday anyway.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Wait what is going on? I got all that error shit earlier on, but the game is showing on my http://eu.square-enix.com/en/account/

I'm all good now, surely? Or are there more fucking hoops? Or perchance is this just you americano chappies getting incompetently fucked around with?

This brings me back to the Playonline days. Why couldn't they have transitioned everything to the new site earlier? Did the Japanese have any problems with inputting their codes?

Sounds like a load of BS. My receipt tells me to go to that website and use the code, it didn't tell me to wait, and people have gotten it to work

I ended up preordering the PS3 version despite having 1.0 CE. The code redemption problems reminds me how much SE's account management sucks. I'm having flashbacks of the horrible playonline FFXI days.

I preordered with Amazon- still have not gotten an email with a code. Have people who preordered with Amazon been getting them?

I think it depends. Amazon seemed to stop sending them out immediately after a preorder because some people would then just cancel the preorder but still have the code. So some people get them while others have to wait a while for whatever reason.

You need a 20 digit code. It appears immediately if the 18 digit code is accepted correctly.

Why would I need to plop in a code to get another code if the first one clearly shows them I have the sodding game as its showing on my profile?

How can they fuck up the actual BUYING process of their game this damn badly :|

Apparently it's a technical issue on their end sending out RAAE 20 digit codes to people in NA. People who bought it from SE had the issue too. :|

Ontop of that why even have a code for people who ordered digitally directly through square?

Their sales are handled by a third party. I get the feeling though a lot more than just sales are outsourced in NA and Europe which is why we have overly complicated systems. I'm worried they don't have the human resources stateside.

Just activated my code by using the url: http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/downloadpc?code=(enter your code here)

Afterwards, I got a page that said "Congratulations! Your pre-order code has been redeemed" and told me to use the code again when the game prompts me after the first login, which I assume is a week from now.

You can put anything into the URL and it'll load up that screen with whatever you put as the code. Try it.

Oh, has there been any word on CE unboxings or anyone getting them early? I'd kinda like to see if the contents are REALLY $80 worthy.

Well the unfortunate part of this is not whether its worth $80 anymore but whether its worth the insane mark up it will be receiving now that there aren't anymore available.
