*RUMOR* Kotaku headlines: Xbox One to launch on November 8, 2013!

Could Sony even retaliate? How likely is it that they could make their launch on the same day, if not earlier? (omg, same day launch.. the riots would be glorious)

I hope it's not true. Would give the leg up to Microsoft but I want same day launches. I want to see a blood bath outside stores!

Sony's response..."Oh, did we say November...we meant October" (joke....a week will not change a thing, minds were made up long ago)

I knew MS would try to one up Sony. Good move, hopefully the have enough stock ready for Black Friday (probably a second shipment?)

So MS is releasing the Xbox one in fewer countries, thus having more units to sell to their primary focus countries. You can be sure that MS is allocating a shiet ton of units to the U.S market, and releasing a week earlier than their competition will give them a week head start to sell even more units. November NPD will be glorious, a great sign of the upcoming months to come.

Really hope the system is ready. Another RROD-like problem would spell the end.

Still getting a PS4.

I think most people are so waiting a week after Xbone launches won't be hard. Great time for 2 new platforms to reinvigorate the market.
That alone would probably make me purchase an Xbox One first.

Sony does this as well for the big titles but most of the stuff on PSN is DD indie stuff so you get it when the store updates like anyone else.

I don't think a week between launches will make much of a difference...especially since most people can't buy both consoles and will need to make a choice if only for financial reasons.

Same day would only hurt the PS4 sales, and changing the date to before the 8th would put unnecessary stress on devs to complete their games. No way Sony changes dates.

Failing to see how launching a week earlier will be some big advantage for either console over the other. They're both going to sell as many as they can make through the end of the year regardless.

I think you're gonna be disappointed with the November numbers...

By the way, fellow Europeans, don't get too excited. We have a long history of getting screwed by release dates.

Add an extra 2 weeks on top of that speculation and you'll likely get the correct date. That's how it worked for PS4 release date.

I don't think so, MS isn't going to give up the U.S market according to the points I made earlier. Also if you have seen their Xbox one unboxing video, they already have begun making em as early as the beginning of August. Their unboxing video was four months before the consoles release day btw.

I'm sure they won't do this, but oh how glorious it would be.

Personally, I'd prefer same day. When the fights break out, who would win? The PS4 definitely has sharp edges that could be used as a weapon, but the Xbox looks like it would probably hit like ton of bricks. That's a question worth answering.

Yup, but if Xb1 still outsells it will be "It had a week headstart..."

I tend not to predict such behaviors. One extra week and a high allocation will do it but MSFT doesn't seem to have it's act together like Sony so we will see.

They haven't even showed of their OS fully working. Unless they are rushing it out.
