No, there's basically no way that happens. Possible wins for us are Wazzu, Oregon St, Arizona, and Colorado. Maybe USC if Kiffikins has totally lost the team by then. Even winning all of those would be a tall order with our defense. We'll have to win shootouts.

I watched most of the Cal - Ohio State game on a plane back from NY. Tough falling into that big of a hole early, and Cal looked outmatched for most of the game. I'm not sure how many games Cal can win this season without a functional running game and a bad defense. Still, it was good to see the team fight back into the game, even in a losing effort.

With a new coach and their rough schedule this season, I don't many Cal fans expected a bowl. Honestly, getting 4-5 wins would be surprising.

:\

We'll see what happens.

Maybe you can help the Fire Lane campaign.

It's tough to watch UT these days. Wonder what the stadium is gonna be like next week...there are a lot of Ole Miss fans here. Concerned even more tickets will be sold to K State fans.

That wasn't Derp McHerp's fault at all. You don't expect backside pressure from your own running back.

And how Brown doesn't end up with that ball is a mystery of physical science.

Really TWO shit plays by Brown in one.

I know, very rookie mistake by an upperclassman runningback. Experience means nothing at Texas when Mack Brown is coach.

I could actually cheer for Tech. Although it would probably just bring them bad luck.

Well with Texas and TCU already fucked, I can now only take pleasure in other teams I dislike losing. The positive outcome could be Brown finally being sent out to pasture.

theres still hope for both to pull things together...texas has a little more to work on, though

Kansas still looking for their first FBS win in 2 years. They lost to Rice today. I feel like Kansas won't get their first win until they play Texas. They want revenge from last years near win

Dude, I feel your pain. I'm texting with my diehard Longhorn cousin, who's at the game, and I'm almost at the point where I'm trying to convince him not to do something stupid. We dealt with this shit with Tubs. But he wasn't an institution...

That was me after the UCLA v Texas game in 2010. My friends were very concerned for me after the game as I was acting very erratic.

It's not over for TCU. They've got some guys and they still have a desire to compete.

Texas will never do shit with Mack at the helm. It's just excuses, scapegoats and band-aids at this point until time runs out on Deloss Dodds and Mack is gone.

Announcers keep saying ASU hasn't beaten any team of substance in the last 7 or 8 years, but didn't they beat USC two years ago when they were 10-2?

wtf at that botched punt. If I were ASU's coach, i'd yank that mother fucker's scholarship. It ain't like punters are hard to find, just put an ad in the student paper!

Yeah I am not that invested in college football where it destroys my entire year when my team loses. Or teams in my case. It just sucks to have it go to shit so soon. But I will cheer for the other Texas teams that are not located in College Station. That should give me at least a couple of weeks of fun.

How much was it to watch?

It's crazy here in Austin right now. Longhorn fans are typically laid-back and classy, but there's a tension I've not felt before.

How they haven't resorted to building one of those plexiglass things, like they have in international soccer games, around where Mack grabs his knees on the sidelines is a mystery.

how was tubs similar?

-Excuses.

-Pre-game excuses in the mid-week press conference.

-Post-game excuses the fans could write word-for-word.

-Fall guys and patsies for leadership and structural failure (Tubs had four different DCs, with four different defenses, in four years. Translation: He had no base defensive philosophy of his own, for a so-called "defensive guru" that spells F.R.A.U.D.)

-Conservative play when the opposite was required

-Resigned-to-failure play by play-callers and players late in game

One positive I can bring from this, the Longhorn network is done really well. We just got it on Time Warner in Dallas, and they have great coverage. The commercials are straight up from major advertisers, There is a lot of. Interesting info about famous UT alumni. No zit cure advertising. Compared to something like Fox Southwest, the production in general is really good.

Mack is doing his post game presser right now. Of course he mentioned the new DC only had 3 days, the defense will get better, and we need to fix it by winning the Big XII

I think it will come out he is retiring. They will always be a big deal b/c of the size of the fan base, but I don't care about the public face of things. The big alumni cannot be happy about how LHN has done nothing and how far behind they are to OU and A&M

LHN is actually a detriment, no coach wants to deal with the bullshit required from it.

From what I've heard, the big alumni with the power are mostly really old dudes who love drinking The Glenlivet on the links with Deloss and Mack, love the access, and love the fact that the 'Horns make more money than some countries.
