I agree, and I'm not advocating that. I'm just trying to explain why some are concerned (and might in fact be happier with a traditionally distributed and designed title).
That is just it. Just make the game worth the price of admission, let me buy it, play it and be left alone without trying to sell me everything as I play. I don't want to continually be prompted to charge my credit card for all of the features and items that I would simply get from just buying a content-packed $60 title.
Chances are, one would end up paying even more than that with everything being stripped out and itemized. That is the entire reason they want to use this model, not to give us a free game out of the kindness of their hearts. They want to get people addicted to constant micro-transactions like they are playing a fucking slot machine. No thanks.
