Sounds like a good time.Yes, the definitive version is the one where I can invade my friends game and chase him with a bus. He doesn't have a PC but is getting a PS4. It's all subjective, logic has nothing to do with it.

"Definitive" version was intended in comparison between the Xbox and PS4 - both are slated for 30FPS.
Sounds like a good time.
Exactly but every PC enthusiast needs to point out that they can run the game better which is their own threshold for excellence. In my experience PC games have wonderful IQ and terribly short lived online communities due to the abundance of games PC players tend to amass. It's all saber rattling on both sides wanting to be "the best" objectively when each person approaches a game they like for different reasons.
There is a market for consoles, definitely. But if someone is so dedicated about differences between different versions of the same games as to type hundreds posts about the issue (and dozens about each particular title) on a message board then surely he should settle for no less than the very best one?Really? Are you really not aware how few people own enthusiast level PC's? It's a very niche market compared to consoles. Not to mention so many peoples friends own consoles, etc.
So the rumour was debunked back on page two and now it is a pc vs console thread? Or did I miss something in between?
After observing literally months of "PS4 graphics are awesome. XB1 is shit banderas.gif" type discussions on NeoGAF....even when bringing up that fact is irrelevant.
I open this thread, see a post about how PC version will actually be the definitive version and all of a sudden a 12 page discussion about how dreadful it is to have a set of gamers who favour one platform to express said platforms superiority?
Imagine a GAF with separate PC and Console gaming sections. I want to be part of that.
We can have our random game OT where we can bitch about the frame rate or horrible AA and you guys can go on about your troubles with drivers and Origin bashing without either of us having to listen to the other.
So, how about that Watchdogs, huh?

PS4 is the definitive console version. We know that PC is the best so even when saying "PS4 is the definitive version" we know that PC is best. I have a PC that is best. I hoped others would take that with a grain of salt as well but this is now a big thread.
And where do you see that information exactly?PS4 is the definitive console version. We know that PC is the best so even when saying "PS4 is the definitive version" we know that PC is best. You're not the only one observing the growing amnesty, sensitivity and protection of anything PS4-related on this forum, it's a worrisome trend.

1080p for PS4 im happy with, the X1 seems to be getting all the lower res rumours, 900p?
I dont understand how if both can do 60fps, with the PS4 being smooth, the X1 fps dips, why is 30fps the target?
Sorry I meant to say Xbox. Better now?
Where do you see that?
That without a shadow of a doubt the worst idea for GAF I have ever heard.Imagine a GAF with separate PC and Console gaming sections. I want to be part of that.

Surely everyone would want to pay the price to have a high end PC. Surely.
I have been playing console games since the NES (even commodore 64 before if that count). I have had a top of the line PC since 1993 almost always playing games at max settings (Crysis was not nice to my new 8800 ultra at the time). I love graphic fidelity and always enjoy every new tech and demonstration of whats to come. However this has never stopped me from enjoying diffrent platforms. Playing 4 player DM on N64 was so much fun and me and my buds play it still on occasion. The first Lan party's and even Dreamhack (from Sweden) I went to was incredible experiences playing CS and WoW. Slaying colossi on PS2 was breathtaking.
The define version of a game is were you have the most fun for me not the graphically superior. I owned both the PC version of BF3 and the PS3 one and even though the PC version stomped on the PS3 graphically most of my buddies played it on PS3 and because of that i enjoyed that version more. I have a paragon lvl 70 Barb with 700h+ playtime in Diablo 3 on PC but still playing my new copy on ps3 in a couch with 4 player coop is incredible even though the limitations. Skyrim on PC and all the user created content makes the console version so inferior.
Not to mention platform exclusive games and games that just don´t work well on them (just stop trying to make RTS for console if you don´t add mouse keyboard support) adds to what makes platforms shine and worth having.
Everybody knows that a maxed out PC will always be the definitive graphical version of any game available to all platforms or they are in denial and I feel sorry for them. Still the REAL definite version of a game is the one YOU have the most FUN with regardless of platform.
Stop bickering on were to play games and enjoy the one you get on your preferred platform regardless of reason from economical, friends, graphics etc.
But I guess some people just want to watch these threads burn....
So what you're suggesting is that the most optimal way to play Watchdogs is on PS360, since most likely everyone interested has the required hardware and no investment is required?Surely everyone would want to pay the price to have a high end PC. Surely.

This thread is so nice. Or when unnamed sources are more believable than the Creative Director.
Lol really? Well thank you. Would like to know why it's the worst though so I can improve my posts. Thanks! That without a shadow of a doubt the worst idea for GAF I have ever heard.
This topic is about Watch Dogs. Never once was the phrase "definitive console version" used. The article mentions the PC version. Your direct attacks are very immature and make no sense in the context of this topic. There's an over 100 page topic on the front page about discussing the power of the two consoles that's not ambiguous in regards to the PC. This topic is quite clearly ambiguous and it's not even a good article so take a damn chill pill. This pent up rage at PC gamers is extremely unwarranted, there are annoying people on every side so these bizarre generalizations are quite unnecessary.
And Steam stats show the most common resolution is 1080p, the most common OS is W7 64 bit, most common RAM is 8GB, most common VRAM is 1GB, DX11 most common by far. Your point about that is just wrong.
when the performance hinders the game then none of what you said matters.
sonic allstar racing 2 can only be 1080p at 60 fps on the pc.
a lot of games can only be 1080p at 60 fps on the pc.
Allstars racing 2 is great example. where both 60 fps and 1080p greatly help the gameplay.
that is where in the problems lays with consoles. Most devs try to squeeze as much out of them for graphics as possible when in the end its just hurting the games.
That without a shadow of a doubt the worst idea for GAF I have ever heard.
Don't you want the truth man!

I would like him to explain his position more, that's all.Keep building them straw men
Most games have something like that already; an OT where the game is discussed and a "PC Performance" thread where PC guys can discuss tweaks.
People just need to grow thicker skin
PC is the primary development platform for Watch_Dogs, whether you want to admit that or not. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will be ports of the PC version.Perhaps they just ignored the PC version because...well most people do
PC isn't exactly at the forefront of marketing either, ie console versions are always the ones being pushed.
My cousin has a dog that looks like your avatar. He's 150 pounds of frustrated Pitbull. He's lovely.
