I'm so late to the party on this, I know so many people who have been fans of this for years.

I decided to watch an episode last week and now thanks to the iPlayer I'm up to date.

It has Mel & Sue, Bread, Biscuits, Pies & Cakes! I wish someone had told me about it sooner.

This sits along with The Apprentice as my favourite competition show.

I'm exactly the same, watched the last one on iplayer cos some mates were and I really wish I'd watched it sooner. I've never really been keen on Masterchef or anything like that, this seems a lot more tense. When's the final?

Finals next week.

All someone had to tell me us Mel & Sue is in it.

No wonder so many people have been making cakes, love the fact it's a competition but they all help each other anyway.

It's also nice they just got this in on a weekend and go home and back to work through the week.

Gona try to catch the other three series.

Ooooh last weeks was sooo good. Tense right up till the end
I wish they went through the process of saying why they eliminated who they did though. We weren't really given a justification for it

Seriously though, this is one TV show I can actually stand, especially since I cook/bake a lot. Everyone on the show is just really nice and likeable, they just want to do well and they all seem to enjoy each other's company. It makes a big difference from the usual reality competition shows where everyone is at each other's throats.

it's a lovely show. it's just really good natured - not like all these over dramatic reality shows. love mary berry - she always seems to find a positive flavour combination in the worst bakes.

i'm rooting for the nutty looking one who is really good at presentation. liked her since her big box of matchsticks at the start. though kimberley seems like she deserves to win.

Yeah it's what makes it for me, you can actually understand and connect with the participants.

I love the whole thing, I even look forward to the little baking history segments.

My money has been on Kimberley from about the 2nd episode. Knows what she's doing, how to do it, and gets consistent results.

Frances needs to spend more time making good food and less time making food that looks good.

Love the show, because I love pie and cake.

I also firmly believe that Mary Berry is actually only 37 and has just been on heroin for too long.

Damn straight. Ruby's often good but she's too pouty and I swear the judges go easy on her because of her poor-me demeanour. They raved about one of her cakes that looked like a five year old had done it. I like Kimberley too because she explains the techniques well - lady has a bright future as a TV chef.

Kimberly seems determined, hard working and the most consistent out of the bunch.

Is hire her as the mature safe pair of hands but rooting for Ruby.

Looking forward to the final.

I watched a season last year or the year before, and loved it. Someone even got me the book for christmas, which I put to good use in the kitchen ;)

But nowadays it always seems to be on when I can't watch.

I'll have to check if it's available on iPlayer over here (Ireland - iplayer is a bit weird about what it will or won't let me watch for some reason).

Oh I only started watching it this series (mid way through) what are all the episodes after the final? Wikipedia is saying there are 6 episodes after the final and I don't know what they're for

The only time she makes bakes that taste nice is the technical challenge when she is given the ingredients. For almost everything else it's almost always all style and no substance. She never fucking listens that things have to taste good too.

In all honesty, I think Kimberly is going to win. She's been the most consistent throughout and Ruby always seems to fuck something up but then just scrape through.

Frances is definitely the most artistic, though, if only she could make the pretty stuff taste good.

brb, gotta go change my tampon.

It looks like Ruby has the flavours, Frances the creativity and looks and Kimberly the most consistent and beat all rounder.

Could go any way on Tues night.

Love the show. Been saying the past month its going to be between ruby and kimberly. All style has no chance. Just caught up with the last ep, obvious plain Jane was going this week.
