Eh, it's fine. Perhaps not as great as it was on iOS 6, but you're not looking at the terrible experience you get on an iPad 3.
Why do people buy Apple hardware without doing research? Check out macrumors.com in the future, they will tell you if it is a good time to buy or not.
I also think that the iPad Mini OG is going to be treated like the original iPad was in that support for it will be dropped by everyone with the quickness.
What would be the point of that, they are both running the same resolution and need to handle exactly the same content.

Is there anything comparable to Safari? Smooth web browsing is make or break.
The Mini has a much smaller battery. I'm finding it hard to believe they are exactly the same spec and the same battery life. What would be the point of that, they are both running the same resolution and need to handle exactly the same content.
All of them use the Iris Pro, except for the most expensive model. So they downgraded the gpu from 650m to iris pro?
No wonder they put the price down for base models.

With the prices and new lighter weight of the Air, the mini became completely uninteresting to me. Give me the larger screen all day. The mini isn't ready enough to hold one handed to make up for its size with the Air now at a pound.
Eagerly awaited the Mini Retina but at $419 CAD for 16GB wifi I'm going to have to pass.
Will just keep my iPad 3
My biggest issue with the larger iPad is typing, the Air helps with arm fatigue but it doesn't help with that. I'd have to use the split keyboard in portrait and landscape (which I hate). The mini is still the perfect form factor for an iPad IMO.
So is there any good reason to get an air over a 13" rMBP?
For $200 and 0.5 lbs more you get:
2.4ghz Non-ULV processor vs 1.3ghz ULV
Intel Iris vs HD 5000
Thunderbolt 2
Retina screen
Additional thunderbolt port
HDMI port

This is actually an issue? I have a mini and I have never noticed any issues. Maybe I'm just lucky?Don't do it. iOS 7 performance on the original Mini is shit. You don't enjoy the experience.
yeah i'm typing on my 2010 mbp and getting some real technolust for the 13" retina. goddamnit.not really. If that half pound is really a deal breaker, then so be it. But the 13 retina with the new price is a much more capable and versatile machine.
When it launched at around $1700 or $1800, it was a real bad deal and the intGPU was choppy for the screen. But now its a very solid choice and pretty fast. I used to think the 13 Air was Apples best balance of power and size. I think the new 13 retina takes over that spot.

I know the iPads are winning the conversation, but would it make a difference to get an i7 over an i5?
2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
I can't decide.

That could be it then--I turned the parallax effect off.I think iOS 7 on the mini is fine. performance within apps is still A-OK and the occasional stutter for wallpaper parallax animations isnt a deal breaker.
Has it been mentioned that the transition effect when you open and closes apps in iOS 7 has changed?

Only if you have Reduce Motion turned on in Accessibility. It fades now rather than zooms.
But if I turn it off the 3D parallax effect won't go away. How do I get rid of the parallax effect? It's very relaxing...
iPad Mini with Retina Display is $400...
What the fuck.
Dat Apple tax. Still the best all around small size tablet.
Honestly, I'm gonna just get the 13" or base 15".
The price on 15 rmbp with 750 is ridiculous. 500 bucks more for 10-15% graphical difference? No ty.
The renamed iPad to 'Air' certainly sets it up for an iPad Pro in the future. I'd be surprised if there isn't one by the end of next year. I'm sure Apple doesn't want to lose too many graphic artists and designers to products like the Surface Pro.Was really hoping Apple would shock the world with an iPad Pro with OSX.
Now I'm contemplating between the RMBP or the Dell XPS 15.
