RUMOUR: Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p, PS4 version is 1080p?

Yeah, not going to believe this.

Xbone doesn't have enough power for 1080p COD? Come on, lets be serious here.

I will say the IGN COD preview being on PS4 was a tiny bit suspect though.

Didn't someone at IW confirm 1080p?

If this is true his tweet a while ago just got more hilarious:

Only a few weeks and we will know EVERYTHING about the games, it will be amazing.

Lol. He is not going to be able to live this one down. Might as well hand over the account.

My goodness.

If this is true- the average consumer won't understand. But it just seems strange with Microsoft exclusivity, and an inability to run in 1080p?

Whoa- utter insanity!

This is bad for me, I only have an Xbone preordered.
Why'd they go so weak? WTF! The DRM didn't even make me a whiny bitch, THIS DOES.

Can someone explain this? Where did the OS makes games crash rumor come from? From insiders?

Proelite is saying the OS is still very buggy and unstable just weeks out from launch and that he is more concerned about that than the possibility of COD being 720p.

This whole thing seems so Unreal. Just remember about a year ago we had a bunch of so - called insiders screaming "parity" from the rafters. And about how both machines were "on par" with each other.

What the fuck happened?

I wonder if this is somehow related to the potential 720p.

http://tech2.in.com/news/gaming/call...nounced/917400

Two of the most notable things about these requirements are the massive 50GB of required HDD space and the 6GB of minimum RAM requirement. Both of these probably tie in to some kind of new texturing technology Activision is employing. Nvidia has been quite vocal about bringing 4K gaming to the mainstream, and has gone on to name Call of Duty: Ghosts as among the games that will support it. At such a high resolution, the in-game textures will have to be much higher than they currently are.

"Of course, to play games at 4K you're going to need a top-end system, one that features SLI GeForce GTX 770s, GTX 780s, or GTX SLI TITANs" - Is it peaking out Esram/DDR3 bandwidth or something else..

They have it running apparently okay on the 360 or PS3, so how could it be an issue, unless 32mb ESRAM isnt enough to do whatever IW need it to do along with a 1080p frame buffer?

I will believe it when I see it (no pun intended). If the game is 60fps and in 1080p on the PS4 but 60fps and only 720p but upscaled to 1080p on the XBox One ends up being true it could make even more headaches for Microsoft's PR team. Especially this early out of the gate with a well known franchise that has been partnered with the XBox brand and exclusive DLC deals. Along with lots of advertising in the past from Microsoft.

I don't believe this. There's just no way the Xbox One can't run Ghosts at 1080p. :/ Anyways... weren't the matches the media played way back running on Xbox One's, and wasn't the debut trailer running on the Xbox One? This has to be a recent change based on development issues, or just not true at all. :/

I always thought the footage that was shown since it's announcement conference was running on PC and they only just showed off the PS4 version with that 1080p video over at IGN.

Why the hell would a current gen Call of Duty port have trouble running on Xbox one?!

I light of the KZ and BF trailers today I am actually offended by Activision's lack of effort in developing a true next gen engine (or at least a competent cross gen one). The game looks bad graphically.

I don't personally believe that Ghosts is running at 720p on XBO. That would just be... sad.

It has begun.

Serious question though: What's more important for sales: 1080p or having the DLC first? I'm going to say DLC first is WAY more important.

That's almost like asking for a death sentence - he's entered a race that he will never, ever win.

Based on the PC system requirements and this information, I'd attribute half of it to Infinity Ward's technical incompetence post-exodus. Xbox is definitely not as powerful as the PS4 but it's probably capable of running games at 1080p, especially ones that look like Call of Duty: Ghosts.

I don't believe this shit. I want confirmation.

It really just seems wild. I mean, have you seen the IGN PS4 Call of Duty: Ghosts video? It's grotesque.

But, we'll see. I didn't believe it at first but after bish came back with that and other insiders started chiming in that it may be real, I had to think it's worth discussing :(

Double the resolution is a major difference.

Reasons I see:

- Not enough time to get to grips with the new hardware
- Difficult esram architecture
- Weak GPU

The two cod threads, proelite posts, CBOAT tha GOD prophesying, and the kickoff for all of this is only a couple of weeks away.

Mainstream won't care if this news stays in forum circles. If this news does, however, spread to casuals and last gen's Cbox/CoD fanboys... well I can see sales for PS4/XBone being more lobsided.

It will spread. People thought the DRM, power differences and used game crap would stay in the forum circles and it didn't.

Shocking news...

You are telling me the more powerful hardware really means something in producing better looking games?

No shit...

I think people are more shocked about Xbone CoD beeing 720p than the PS4 having a superior CoD.

It's not so far fetched though, is it? Word of incomplete development tools from Eurogamer and we're already seeing 720p or variable first party games at launch. All signs point to Microsoft having a rougher start.
