This used to be my main gaming setup.

Then I got a great (yet expensive) present in my baby daughter and all the 360 stuff got sold and no more cable. I have been able to build a pretty good PC though, so this is my gaming area now.

Nice, I have the same case, I like to use that one for my clients new computer builds too.

Here's me a while back:
I didn't think an unfinished setup warrant too nice a picture, so excuse the iPhone photography!
R8XgOHf.jpg

Here's the gameplan from here on...
-I need to finish my collection of consoles. I need to pick up a Genesis, a Saturn, and an Xbox
-I need to replace the awful ugly table in the center there. I'm probably going to end up trying to build it. I needs to fit the GC, PS2, and Xbox
-Paint/stain the furniture real pretty
-Get the rest of the cables, selectors, etc. I need
-Make a bean bag chair out of some neat fabric since I have two bags of bean bag beans just hanging out.

Not pictured:
-Modern systems, those are just on the living room TV. Boring!
-PC. Technically it is. That's the reflection in the TV.

Moved to a new place, was really tired of those pine storage things, had no interest in taking the time out to paint them so I took a trip down to IKEA and got pretty much the only TV stand they have capable of holding a 27" CRT and some shelves (EXPEDIT). I'm liking this a lot better, save for how cramped all the chotchkies are. That'll be fixed when I expand. Luckily the EXPEDIT stuff is really modular and dirt cheap.

Really love how low the TV is to the floor now. Sitting cross-legged in front of the tube was how I always did it as a kid and I'd like to continue that tradition.

EDIT: Seeing this made me realize how in desperate need for SEGA systems I am!

Well, my roommate moved out so I took over his room. My girl and I transformed it last week. I just finished it tonight, cleaning up wires etc... Please excuse the photo quality, the HTC One isn't great with night-shots.

Here's the view when you walk in.

I vote we change the name of this thread to "Check Out My Ridiculously Cool Pad That You'll Never Be Able To Afford <Insert Evil Laugh>" :)

I'll post my slightly inadequate gaming set up at some point - just gotta clean up a bit.

So I've been slightly updating my home over the past few weeks. Finally decided to move my record player into the living room since I've been meaning to find it a spot since I moved in more than 2 years ago. It really adds to the living room space.

Next up on the project list are getting some better speakers, new chairs and hopefully I'll run into something better to hang on the wall above my couch. I also wish I had better cable management, but I don't want to redo the floor just to hide some cables and wireless solutions seem awfully pricey.

Ahhh.. do you have a fan or something in the back of that storage unit? Especially for that 360. I'm fairly sure if I played any of my 360s in an area as small as that they would have red ringed in about 5 minutes.
I hardly ever play on the 360 anymore, but I make sure to open up the cabinet when I play one of the consoles. I got my cabinet second hand and the back has been opened up a bit so there is a decent amount of room for air to flow through. It's also not directly pushed against the wall.

My 360 red ringed twice, though that was when it was sitting out in the open.

Honestly I played games in a closed compartment this entire generation. It was probably so hot in there that instead of distorting the solder joints which would normally cause the RROD, it just remelted them each time :) It was like the towel trick applied to every gaming session!

Amazing stuff Danielsan.

I wish my room is half as tidy and amazing as yours, but I'm a hoarder .. so yeah.

Thanks guys! The speakers are Swan M10s.

Mine's from a Finnish furniture store called Jysk, the model is called Janus. I have no idea whether it's available elsewhere.
I know that Jysk also has stores in The Netherlands so they are probably all over Europe at this point.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Is it weird that I'm jealous of a lot people's flooring? LOL.

I hate having wall to wall carpet. It looks so nasty. Been checking apartments in the area and none of them seem to have wooden or tile floors. :/

is the eames chair and Noguchi Coffee Table real? Or replica. If not a replica how much was the table?

Eames is real, got it brand new from a person who worked for the company for 1/5th the price.

Noguchi is replica, sadly. Planning on getting a real one eventually.

Fuck. I think I paid about $4k for mine and that was $1k under retail. Did you get a real one for $1k then?

Got it for $800.

nice, how mouch was the replica and is it at least somewhat ok?

I honestly can't remember, it was years ago. Probably about $300.

It's just fine. I typically go for the real deal on chairs/things you actually sit in. There's a noticeable difference. However, for things that are more for "looks," I find knockoffs to be the better option - unless you're really wealthy.
