Glad I went and got this instead of watching that!
and yes I am OCD and she will be in a vertical stand as soon as BB opens in the morning next to her PS3 sister.

Takes a bit to DL update, install update, restart, upload update again, rebuild network for a sec and then come back.

take it out of the carpet dude, please..........

I expected no more than was hinted at. People expecting TLG or Persona 5 or whatever were insane. A while back there's a post from me collecting all of what we'd heard was possible, and I wasn't super-duper excited about it because most of it didn't appeal to me. Now here we are done with the show and I'm wondering how with my expectations set to "fairly reasonable" I was STILL let down.

Spike TV stuff is pretty much the AAA-type stuff. If you are looking for other shit, well, there's a bunch more conventions coming up this year and I doubt you'll have to wait long.

On topic, I loved this presentation. Just perfect.

So, it seems like I missed nothing? An Uncharted teaser which only shows a map. A couple of seconds of The Last of Us dlc and that's it?

Something doesn't add up. Shuhei said that all the 16 first party studios are working on PS4 IPs...except Sony posseses only 13 of those...

I'm a bit behind. What was the space game and revived old franchise that were rumored to be announced?

None revealed...

I don' understand either. How do you watch a show tha you know is for the console launch and comeaway disappointed because the main thing ended up being the console launch?

That was a colossal waste of an hour. When will game companies learn that no one cares about the guys making the games? I don't want to sit and listen to them talk about what they're doing to make the game. I certainly don't need to watch them. If they're gonna explain the game, do it via voice-over of game footage. If you're gonna spend all that money on a hype event, you need to show more than 7 or 8 minutes worth of game footage in an entire hour.

If you're gonna show someone talking about the game, hire a pretty spokesmodel to do so. Make sure she's properly briefed, or scripted, and let her do her thing on camera. I don't want to look at the gargoyles who make the game. I was telling someone on IRC that it's akin to going to a car show and having some fat slob modelling the car on stage. It doesn't fly. Car manus hire pretty models to do that, and just fill them in on the info they need to share. That way you have eye-candy to go along with your product. These game companies continue to parade out boring dev, after boring dev, sitting down to talk shop, while very little, usually underwhelming game footage gets shown.

I wasted an hour. I seriously did. I'm getting a PS4 in the Spring, and this did nothing to hype me for it. If I was on the fence, this event might have pushed me in the opposite direction. Realtalk. I'm embarrassed for whoever puts these events together, because they continue to not have a fucking clue in the world on how to present a product. Sony spent millions on a complete and utter flop of an event. Anyone buying a PS4 this year, was already going to do so anyway. The game commercials and YT spam will do far more to sell the console than Geoff Keighly and some woman who clearly doesn't know squat about games. Ms "Once a Decade" doesn't know this is the second PS in 8 years. SMH. PEACE.

I think some of the disappointment stems from the sub par launch games we have. I was intrested in Infamous and I got the good on that. All I really wanted was DOA5u Arcade edition and USF4 I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer on those. Then I can sell my ps3 :p

I won't ever get myself hyped by anyone in this industry again. I know better now.

But I haven't come away disappointed. The Uncharted and The Last of Us announcements were great. I absolutely love the Ground Zeroes skin.

And that's about it. Disappointed by the InFamous date and now I probably won't buy it as I'm getting Titanfall that month. I don't care about getting early access to Destiny.

I expected more but I'm not disappointed. :)

I just didn't get any sleep. Zzz.

Pimp, it was a launch countdown event. Really, what did you expect? E3?

People take the weirdest approaches to these things. Alot of self-imposed, unjustified hype and massive disappointment when said hype oesn't measure up to the event. Kinda juvenille to be honest

ND announced something, albeit a game i wasn't really hoping for, but that's all i expected. I stopped watching after that. Can't wait to see some footage.

Well, I missed it cause I was at work...came home, caught updates, was kinda sad not a single thing was exciting.

I dont care about DLC, exclusive content, or beta access

It doesnt take a psychic to tell you we were gonna get an Uncharted...heck I can tell you without a doubt were gonna see a God of War soon enough..
I just wanted something "new"

I'm a Sony man, its my brand of choice. I got my copy of Killzone, Battlefield and FIFA from Amazon today and pick my console up tomorrow.

As of now, my only to thoughts are "I hope I dont get a defective unit" and "F*ck, no announcement to rival MS having Titanfall in the spring was announced"...

Comcast in the Bay Area was showing Cops at the time the show was supposed to be airing Live... It's still shows for 11pm on the guide. Good thing PS3 and other websites were streaming it.

I'm not accepting this. They hyped this as more than just a launch thing. "Learn about the games Sony has for 2014 and beyond". "Will there be unannounced PS4 games?" "Yes."

Like, literally the ONLY way you could've come away not disappointed was if: A.) You're playing Killzone and Knack and some indie titles and just don't give a fuck what's coming up next, or B.) You were being unreasonably pessimistic given the information that was on hand. Which, you seem to have been so congrats.

Only thing that hinted to the contrary was Shu's tweets, which everyone thought to be trolling but apparently Shu was just being straight up with us. Note to self: Trust Shu over everyone from now on.

There were like two new PS4 games announced. They didn't lie. Of course there weren't going to be any megatons.

Ya'll are too much, lol

Reading this post kinda clears things up. You didn't really look at this thread, you just kinda heard there'd be a launch event thing-y and sat down in front of Spike. You had no preconceived notions because none were offered to you in the first place. Fair enough.

But understand there's a difference between people who were expecting a list of games as long as your arm, and someone who assumed there'd be a handful of announcements that probably weren't for him but would be entertaining to watch nonetheless.

Playing as original Snake in the PS4 exclusive mission.

gotcha.

also, just saw saw this funny gem on my FB feed so i had to entertain:

"LOL you playstation nerds are getting ugly snake for exclusive content!"

so i say: wait arent you a nerd too if you know who snake is though?

him: naw, i just saw that wack game at microsofts E3

me: wait, so youve never played the original MGS? that game is awesome!

him: lol hell no, that game is ugly as hell

me: uhhhh well it did come out 15 years ago....on the OG playstation

him: lol playstation nerds

Er, Geoff and some Sony high ups were teasing "learn what's coming up for PS4 in 2014 and beyond" and teasing "big exclusive announcements"

What we got was some details for some DLC and an Uncharted logo

Some random shit nobody's ever heard of and Uncharted? Mmkay.

I gotta be honest when I say you really don't know how low the bar was set for me. I just wanted some release dates, guy.

Not only to yourself but also to us all. When he says no, it really is a no.

I'm convinced now cocky Sony is back. 1 million preorders now they can sit back & relax. God if M$ didn't screw the pooch so fuckin bad I wonder how things would look
