WHOA... nostalgia. Anyway to play Crash 3 without a PS1?

It's on PSN, so you can play it on a PS3 or PSP. Think you can get them on Vita if you're outside the US too. Oh, and if you have a phone with Playstation Mobile support some of the Crash games are on there IIRC, dunno about 3 though.

Umm buy it off the Playstation Store and play it on your PS3 or PSP?

- PSN (on PS3, PSP, and Vita outside of NA)
- Emulation

That's all I got.

I had no idea it was on PSN. Will be looking there shortly! Thank you all!

Edit: SWEET MERCY! Crash 2 as well! Edit 3: Nevermind! :(

I think this is going to happen but SCE is waiting for the perfect opportunity to announce it. I mean that sign says Crash going to SCE.

Maybe it just means Crash was at his highest point whilst under Sony's stewardship. I wouldn't really read too much into it. Anger and disappointment, this line of thought will lead to.

I decided to make some Crash 3 gifs:

Everything after the ND games just didn't have the same magic. See Wrath of Cortex, which basically tried to copy the first 3 games:

The gameplay's not nearly as tight or sharp. Even the graphics don't look as good and it was one generation ahead. (these are all platinum runs by the same player, btw)

Twinsanity tho

what if.....

what if Sony trying to kill the hype so Activision would think there is no value in keeping it and sell it for a reasonable price to Sony?

I don't think we would see any of these hints if it wasn't either a done deal or never happening (the hints is just Sony giving homage to Crash :'( )

Yea this bugs me. Why is the arrow pointing up Sony? WHY IS THE ARROW POINTING UP??

It looks like Crash is giving a thumbs up to Sony, to show approval?

To play Devil's advocate, if Sony did acquire the rights to make a new Crash game, why would Sony leak that in an obscure commercial filled with other references, then make Activision give out false information in public statements?

Sorry guys, itsnothappening.gif.

Edit: oh crap. I think this deserves another thread...

Amazing to see it in such great quality.

Why wouldn't they leak it in a commercial like that. They know what us obsessive GAF types are like.

I dunno. Despite being shutdown by Activision comments last week. Why would Sony make a sign like that for Crash? It just doesn't make sense outside of Crash is coming back to Sony. I'd imagine if we hear something about Crash making a comeback. Its at VGA next weekend

VGX, 2013.

Lights go dark. Crash theme starts to play. Lights go back up, revealing Rubin holding Crash's hand, slowly walking on stage towards Cerny, standing there arms open, a tear in his eye. "Buddy, we're going home".

Believe.

i cant stop picturing this in my head.

i want!

Because Crash played a big role in the PS1 era for Sony.
It IS part of Sony history it must be there.

and IF Sony just bought the IP back then it is reasonable to not see anything about it until at least next E3. The studio that will make it need some time to actually make something worth showing for the big news.

Twinsanity was worse, you just ended up running around a lot, with random gems placed everywhere:

Open world doesn't work in a Crash game. It actually played more like Banjo-Kazooie to me.

I think open world could work. They would just need to know how to use open spaces and how to use enclosed spaces for speed runs. Mario does it.

I think they would still announce it at the VGA's that Crash is back in Sony hands. Doesn't have to be a huge thing.

I am 100% sure a Crash game is being done somewhere and it's probably an exclusive to Playstation. I mean, this thread has almost 2000 replies, there'a bunch of twitter messages alluding to this, like the Playstation Brazils and Bruce Straley's tweet. Where there's smoke there's also fire.

I even had a dream about a new Crash game not too long ago, it was awesome.

Believe.

meh no way
what made crash so good/unique was it was like a hybrid of 2d platformers and fully 3d open levels in mario 64

for some reason people knock the game for being corridors, but i actually think thats what i like most about the game. it's 3d but still guided and focused like a 2d platformer

It's only like that if you choose to play it like that. That was what made Twinsanity great. It was super linear just like the old games. It was just that if you wanted you could go off the main path and explore for gems. Completely optional. The core gameplay was just as linear and focused as the original games.

You know, these posts are actually making me want to play Twinsanity. I never played it.

You should. You're in for a treat. Easily the funniest game in the series and the gameplay is pretty solid too. It's not flawless, but I think it's a highly enjoyable game and the last good game in the series. It revived the series from the disaster that was Wrath of Cortex. Then they went on to screw everything else up after Twinsanity, but nevertheless it was a breif revival for the franchise.

If you already own the game then you could play it on your PC with ePSXe-emulator.

I tried to play Twinsanity on PCSX2 but there's an annoying graphical glitch and the framerate dips pretty badly occasionally, but it looks pretty nice in high res.

I never knew it was that good. Always thought it was just another post-ND Crash game. Now I feel bad for never playing it.

But that's not a level

I mean, the levels themselves still weren't as tight as the originals, but that's just a hub, basically. So of course you're just running around.

It seems, like Sakurai, he's lost his touch.

You know what? Fuck it. I'm just gonna come out and say it. Twinsanity>>>>Crash 3.
I like Twinsanity quite a bit but I disagree with this. Based on quality, fun, and priority on platforming my ranking would be: 2 > 3 > 1 > Twinsanity > Mind over Mutant > Crash of the Titans > N. Tranced > Huge Adventure >= Wrath of Cortex

Do not dismiss Twinsanity, or even Radical's Crash games (Tag Team Racing, Crash of the Titans, Mind over Mutant) as "just post-ND Crash games." They're not the same as the past, but get the fuck over it, they're fun games.

Take the vehicle levels out of Crash 3 and replace them with proper levels up to the standard of the rest of the game and I'd have a different opinion of it. As of right now it goes 1=2 > Twinsanity > 3. Take out the vehicle levels and I'd rate 3 above Twinsanity.
