Its not even the top 7 will benefit, there will be value in the later parts of the draft because dudes that stayed an extra year (sophomore to junior) are really starting to show that they have improved.

And it'll fuck everyone up if/when Jabari stays another year.

If the Nets continue like this, they'll have given up Damian Lillard so they could pay Gerald Wallace $40 million and will have given up a top 5 pick in this draft so they could pay Joe Johnson $85 million. These moves were only so that they would be able to pay Deron Williams $100 million. This doesn't seem to be working out.

Remember when Deron could have played with Dirk and had Rick Carlisle as his coach and he decided Joe Johnson and Coach Avery Johnson were more appealing options?

I've given up hoping for Wiggins. We won't be bad enough to put ourselves in a spot for the top pick.

Top 5 is my new goal.
It's entirely plausible that Wiggins won't go #1. Parker, Embiid, and even Smart could go ahead of him depending on which teams get those top picks.

Our bench has been quietly amazing this season. Reggie, Lamb, Collison, and Adams all provide good minutes.

Hope we can extend Reggie, but it'll be a lot harder if he keeps this level of play up.

With how often he's been injured and the level of play when he's not, I'd say the Mavs dodged a bullet.

7. The overwhelmed Cody Zeller

Zeller's a rookie learning the speed of a new level, so some growing pains are understandable. But he's shooting 34 percent with an ugly turnover rate, and looking completely overwhelmed every time he catches the ball at the elbow — his sweet spot, should he desire a long NBA career. "OK, I have the ball. Omigod, omigod, omigod, I have the ball! Should I shoot? I dunno, that guy is pretty close to me. Can I dribble? Am I allowed to dribble? Maybe I should pass to that guy in the corner, the Swedish one or something, and, oh, shoot, they figured out I was looking over there. OK, gotta do something! Here goes!" (At this moment, Zeller typically takes one or two hard lefty dribbles toward the rim and then falls over.)

maybe an all-star pg like John Wall could make Zeller look like an NBA player

Cody Zeller might actually be worse than Meyers Leonard. I told y'all not to draft American born white centers in the lottery!

I think there is a gross misunderstanding regarding how bad Sessions and Kemba have been this season.

... barely... and he's only taking 2.5FGA. His 3PT% is down, too. Dude just sucks.

He sucked in college, too. He's been living off his last name and high school hype, which will probably get him at least one more contract after the Pelicans decline his option. Because the NBA is stupid.

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
WTF just heard about the injury to Mike James, MCL. Are the bulls officially the portland of the east?

Teague just got his 2nd chance....

A top 5 pick in this draft will be absolute gold. Hell, a top 7 pick will be pretty awesome as well. The tank is gonna reach unholy levels in the new year.

Parker
Wiggins
Randle
Embiid
Smart
Exum
Gordon

...yeah, not buying that for a second. Either way, I don't subscribe to the philosophy that you can accomplish much regularly via the NBA draft.

The mavs have still been outscored with Ellis on the floor from what i checked at nba.com stats. Still basically an average WS/48.

82games.com has him at +4.5. The Calderon/Ellis/Marion/Dirk/Dalembert lineup is +32.

On the other hand the Calderon/Ellis/Carter/Marion/Blair lineup is -20.

Wince is -9.3 this year. Marion is -8.9. The Mavs need to get younger and more athletic at the 3.
