Seriously, the LotR framework that this is being told through is one of the worst things about these films.
Exactly.

Looks as though we now have inadvertent confirmation that Bilbo.does put on the Ring at some point during his initial encounter with Smaug - which I know a lot of people were questioning based on the trailers
Well Laketown is pretty far east so I'm guessing they'll portray it as more of a multicultural city.
Still totally "spoiler free" over here :3. No clips or soundtrack exept the trailers and that one short clip with Gandalf at Dol Guldur that released ages ago. I totally gobbled everything released for TUJ so feels good to go in relatively fresh this time.I have this weird involuntary reflex where I click on every clip I can even though the first thing my brain tells me when I see one is, "I better not watch this".
Voting is up on IMDB!
I thought it was only up after embargo was up?
thanks, watching that jib move on rails is sexy as fuck.
its a damn shame the timing wasn't right for them to shoot on a RED dragon.
When's that motherfucker going to start shooting the Tintin sequel. Give it to Spielberg already. Dude's sitting with his thumb up his arse.
I wouldn't hold him to his 'smaller projects' statement, he said the exact same thing around the time he was finishing Return of the King - he then went on to do King Kong. The better time to ask him will be when all three films are out and he doesn't have six million things to worry about on a daily basis for a little while. He may very well go back to small films, but you know, "fool me once..." and all that.
Goblin Town is a perfect example of that.Glad to hear that the cinematography is a step up. Because AUJ was severely lacking compared to the original trilogy. So many unnecessary swoops from a guy who I expect unnecessary swoops from.
Goblin Town is a perfect example of that.
:lol
The second review is in:

Uh, it's still one movie to go.
:lol at the last one
Someone forgot they were watching a trilogy.
The Two Towers had an amazing sense of closure for an actual film, considering it was the middle of the trilogy, while still teasing what was to come.
Anyone see Smaug read R Kelly lyrics on Kimmel from last night?
"And when we wake up, I'ma hit that thing again."
Didn't realize how much the ladies love Cumberbatch.
If he and Tom Hiddleston are ever in the same room together I think it would actually cause some women's heads to explode.

loved the production diary, loved the fact the next one's about the music, loved the tweets about the movie, and loved that Cumberbatch/R. Kelly video.
I'm pretty damn hyped. Oh well, I would be even if the reviews were middling - I'm too much of a fanboy to care.
literally. Add David Tennant there and the entire world would implode.
Man, a large number of the responses so far keep playing up one particular action set-piece as being particularly amazing/incredible/mind-blowing...can't wait.
Yeah, I'm really curious to know which sequence they're referring to. Hopefully it will be suitably awe-inspiring and thus self-evident when I get to see the film.
