I wonder if some gamers or family members waiting for a PS4 may have bought an xbox one because it was available.

Or it's a sign that it isn't selling. How would you know either way?

The best console now is the Wii U. It has games. Sorry, but it's the truth. Launch consoles generally suck for games. This launch is no different.

Wii U has better games, sure. I'm not sure it has MORE games that I want to play. The two Marios and W101 are about it for me. In my opinion, these next-gen launches have served to show what a barren first year the Wii U has had.

I want to get one (already own an Xbone), but WHERE ARE THE GAMES!? The only game announced that seems original so far is The Order 1886, and we know basically nothing about it. Where is Sony's "Titanfall" title?

It's Call of Duty meets Pacific Rim, man.

Infamous SS, Driveclub, Planetside 2, you name it.

In other news. GOT MY ORDER. YES.

If (probably a big if) PS4's are in stock after XMAS, I wonder how many people will return there xbones in for PS4's and vice versa.

The Wii U's crappy first half of the year and glorious last half is what gives me hope for the PS4. Sony isn't Nintendo when it comes to exclusives, but it's got the third party love, so at this point next year, I'm betting PS4 will be in a very nice position.

The guy asked what Sony's Titanfall was. Titanfall isn't an exclusive. Neither is Destiny, but Bungie is going out of their way to show off Destiny on PS4 so it's safe to assume that's going to be the lead platform and thus most likely the definitive version. If I owned an Xbox One, I wouldn't even consider Destiny on it.

Sure, except that the people who actually played it say its nothing like CoD. Thus the hype.

One of those games is only coming to one console, the other is coming to both. In the confines of the argument, one is exclusive and one isn't. You can't tout Destiny as a PS4 exclusive just because it is lead platform no more than you can say Titanfall isn't exclusive to x1 when talking about consoles only (ie excluding PC).

But outside of that, I see many people saying or misinterpreting Destiny as an ACTUAL PS4 exclusive, which is demonstrably false.

Where is Sony's generic shooter that is also on the PC? Doesn't exist. Shadowfall was atleast exclusive to the platform.

I would much rather have 70+ releases in 2014 of various quality compared to 1 blockbuster title, sales wise. MUCH rather have that. You'll play Titanfall for a few weeks until it becomes a generic XP grind and then will be on the forums asking about the next release.

But really, that " where are the games " comment is hilarious considering the PS4 has about 3-4x the number of games hitting in 2014 then the X1. I already have 10+ games installed on my system, all of which I think are high quality enjoyable titles and still have atleast 5 more I want to play myself out of just the launch games.

Well I'm playing Max:Curse of the Brotherhood right now and possibly picking up Peggle 2 next week. Halo:Spartan Assault releases next week as well. That is 3 arcade games in the month of December. Next year we know of Titanfall, Halo, Below and I expect a ton more indie games to launch on Xbox One so saying X1 only has 1 game next year is being a little ridiculous.

I think it was either Best Buy or Gamestop that said they'd have some on the 29th? So yea, Sony shipments won't be slowing down after Christmas. They're still trying to catch up with their demand, after all.

Yep. Because there are far more of them.

Basically every ps4 in the world post Asia launch has been heading to NA and Western EU. And right now is when they are arriving.
I wonder how many Amazon got. I highly doubt the demand, just 5 days before Christmas, has dried up like some posts are suggesting.

Best Buys will have a ton this Sunday. This shipment is probably 60% the size of our launch shipment. My district alone has about 1100. Last weeks Xbox shipment was around 800 (still in stock at every store)

So after placing an order on Amazon for a ps4, I decided to give my local Gamestop a ring to see if they indeed have some in stock. The lady said yes and I immediately canceled my Amazon order and took the 5 minute drive, antsy as fuck all the while.

I got there and there was 6 people inline. I saw 1 PS4 on the back counter on top of 3 Xbox 1. I was praying to dear god that no one in front of me was there for it. It was still there when I got to the register so I asked if they have any for sale.

"No, sold out."

I was strucked with bewilderment and crestfallen! "But I called not 10 minutes ago..."

"Yea, sorry."

So I hung my head and walked out thinking how I should of kept the Amazon order; maybe that was sold out too and I missed another chance.

"Wait!" I heard. "Theres 1 left. Im sorry."

Turns out the ps4 on the counter was unclaimed! Now im so happy!

Haha you got lucky pal!

Enjoy and happy holidays!!

That's non sense. Is the same game on both systems.

It's the same thing as saying that PS3 owners should not buy Call of Duty.

If I owned both consoles. And when I did own a PS3 and 360, I rarely if ever considered the PS3 version of multi-plats.

And in a sign of what Amazon thinks of current PS4 supply/demand, they just dropped the trade-in value by 120 dollars.

I almost want to buy one, but there still aren't any decent Japanese titles available. Maybe I'd be better served putting my money towards something else until the Japanese launch.

I would have to agree with this. I owned both a PS3 & a 360 last gen, & I rarely get PS3 versions of multiplat games unless they were developed with PS3 in mind (like Final Fantasy XIII & XIII-2, Tomb Raider, or Castlevania: Lords of Shadow).

This generation, it should be the other way around with PS4 having the better versions of multiplats over Xbox One, only this time, the differences between Xbox One & PS4 versions of multiplat games would be bigger than the multiplats between PS3 & 360.

How is the demand at your district? Any idea if this shipment might be overdoing it? Sony has so many markets to worry about, I wonder if they might flood a market that is not really looking for a PS4 and have shortages at where there is demand?

Nobody is better than Nintendo at what they do. Nobody. That said, what they do is increasingly limited and conservative, and I would put Sony's exclusives above Nintendo's simply because Sony delivers new IPs on a far more regular basis. Seven years ago I would have slapped myself for uttering such a blasphemy but there you have it.

Nintendo at its best is still leagues above Sony at their best, but I agree with you about the new IPs. The games might not be better than what Nintendo can produce, but they're often more interesting. Sony takes chances that Nintendo doesn't seem to want to even consider. That's why I went with the PS4, but complemented it with a Wii U.

It's still in stock, but for the last couple hours the earliest delivery date has been Dec 27th, so that will slow things down a bit...

Still seeing 23rd with paid one day shipping or 24th with free shipping.

It's a bit silly to get upset over a "lack" of Sony exclusives. We know how many great exclusives Sony had last gen, we know how many great studios Sony owns and there are a few great independent ones which have been developing exclusively for them for some time now, too. None of that is going to change this gen. They haven't shown off all that much so far, so what? That doesn't mean there are no great games in development. We know there are and we're going to see them when they time is right and we're going to play them when they're ready. I mean, you can't have both. You can either play games now and complain about how crappily they run (e.g. BF4) or you can have some patience and wait till they're done. Same goes for trailers and gameplay reveals. I bet the ones complaining about the lack of footage now would be the first ones to whine over tearing, FPS dips, texture pops or aliasing in any given preview footage. The PS4 will have lots of exclusives, the PS4 will have lots of great exclusives but great games aren't made in one day so show some patience.

We had a shipment about 2 weeks ago that was about 30-40% the size of launch and we sold out right when the store opened. About 75 units. I work Sunday after opening so I'll be checking to see how many are left

I really want to get one... But I don't know if its worth buying a console at launch. I waited until 80 GB software backward compatible PS3s...

I am afraid of buying consoles at launch and having to deal with the problems with console ie. L1/R1s and console overheating. :\

Should I go for it?

Also the only game that interest are AC4, The Last Guardian, ICO like game, and want Watch Dogs... :\

Whoa, still in stock AND they ship to Japan.

Very tempted but I decided to hold off until the February launch here, see how the games lineup shapes up. But if anyone else is wondering, Amazon is apparently OK shipping these overseas! (probably not before just after Christmas though)

It's ultimately on the games and how much what you listed interests you.

I don't think any potential launch issues are a huge deal. From Amazon especially, they are very helpful and will get it situated in the most hassle free way possible.

I got over hyped and bought 2 years of PS+ already... I haven't used the codes though. Is it ok to sell those codes???
