What's all this draft nonsense, this isn't an offseason thread! All your teams still have one week of pride play left......

Need our annual pats/colts game.

now that you dont have that choke artist at qb i dont even hate you anymore. i even rooted for the colts several times this year and didnt feel disgusted

steelers and the jets are the only teams left that we still hate hate here

So is the Lions' secondary not talented or are they poorly coached? Seems like Schwartz may go back to Papa Fisher and be DC next year once the Lions fire him.

The colts are likeable again. Even diehard texans fans like squicken can't help but cheer for then now.

Fucking SIGH. It would have been less painful if the Failcons got blown out. I can't believe we were this close to getting a Christmas miracle. So many things went wrong at the end stretch of this season to make us miss the playoffs, sucks dick. Oh well, we'll be a force to be reckoned with next season and the franchise is FINALLY in good hands. Exciting and hopeful time to be a Cards fan. It's not too late though NO, you can make up for losing to the Panthers by losing again this week! Right your wrong!

The secondary is just bad. Darius Slay our rookie 2nd rounder as showed flashes of brilliance.

I was looking for the video, but against the Bears, Darius Slay was covering Brandon Marshall like a glove and Jay Cutler just threw the most perfect pass imaginable even with Slays arm extended trying to defend the ball. Slay has got the size, and seems to be talented I think he just needs more experience and to hit the weight room a bit more.

Rashean Mathis has been a great veteran pickup for us, and I always liked him in Jacksonville. Other than that its a bunch of no names. Until the Monday Night Game I had no idea who Don Carey was.

Our safeties have been extremely disappointing though, and I think thats where most of our problems lie. Delmas just seems to overpursue whether its against the pass or run, and Grover tends to do the same.

I said it at the start of the year but we needed to produce turnovers like we did in 2011, and we're in the middle of the pack in the league (15th). Not as bad as last season, but with our defensive line we should be in the top 10.

I still personally believe you can have a mediocre secondary if you're front 7 are strong, and your offense puts up points. So even though a lot of Lions fans will clamor for secondary help in the draft I still think we need to get as many playmakers on offense as possible.

As for your question though I never thought of Schwartz as a guy who got hands on with the secondary. He left that to the secondary coaches and focused more on the front 7. I think he would make a good DC for you guys. He just wasn't built to be a HC like Jeff Fischer or the Harbaughs.

Lions really aren't that talented. Schwartz overacheived and the season was a success and shouldn't be called a failure.

Seeing this on Twitter again. Sorry kas

Matthew Stafford has 4 career victories over teams above .500. 2012 Seahawks, 2013 Bears (twice, 8-7), 2013 Cowboys (8-7)

Quinn was good in Houston. Not a Pro Bowler but very solid. And I agree with you on the secondary. With a good front 4 it just needs to be decent. Turnovers are pretty random, and mostly occur when a team has a lead. The Rams forced 9 turnovers against HOU and IND, but 7 of those came after the Rams had built a 3 score lead

Those forced fumbles and INTs in close games are the ones that are so random

Even I thought that was a TD. The receiver had the ball outside of the endzone and it should have been a touchdown once he crossed the line.

Nightz I'm rooting for you guys to get that 6th seed. No offense to Dolphin or Raven fans but those teams are boring to watch.

I'd like to see Rivers get a shot at the SuperBowl after a lot of letdowns. You guys would be a great sleeper team in a weak ass AFC.

squick I was playing FF7 on Steam all night last night and got probably 3 hours of sleep. I don't have the energy to defend Staffords honor. Maybe later today though after I get some Christmas Eve drinks in me.

Thanks. Your guys could have helped by beating the Ravens though. :(

I think if we can get in, the Eagles home opener voodoo curse will take its course.

I have posted something about it before, how he has beaten so many teams that ended up 8-8. Just noting it is popping up again as the Schwartz-Lions obituary is written

I don't think I can be friends with anyone who doesn't think 808s is the best Kanye album.

For me personally it depends what mood I'm in that day but 808 is Top 3 for me. I'll never understand the hate it get.

I just escaped the Shinra HQ and got to the world map. Its still the GOAT RPG, and one of the best games ever. The music, characters, story, simple but fun battle system etc. are all the best. I don't think anything will ever top it for me.

Are none of you fools working today? I wanted to play FF VIII on Steam last night but ended up talking to my roommate about the game instead haha Didn't help that Fellowship of the Ring killed all the hours of the night but LOTR is always worth it. I'll buy FF VII on there once I finish with VIII. Would be awesome if they brought IX over but only VII and VIII had PC ports already made so I doubt it.

I'm working. Go Rams!

30 people arrested during MNF last night

San Francisco police Sgt. Danielle Newman said police would not be releasing a lot of details about the goings-on Monday at the 53-year-old Candlestick Park where the 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-24.

"There were some thefts of stadium property. ... I know that some seats were destroyed tonight ... I know of some signs being taken off the wall," Newman said.

At least one person was reported injured during the game but not seriously, Newman said.

Police said Tuesday morning that 30 people were arrested for property destruction and drunkenness; seven received citations; and 81 people were ejected from the stadium during the game.

Stay classy San Fran
