Another nail in WiiU's coffin. I wonder how many other retailers will dump the WiiU in 2014.

Lol. It's promotion for the bi-monthly sales period in one store from a chain.
But keep fucking that chicken, I guess.
I didn't buy a PC from Microsoft or Google. And you get your iPhone for 'free', so not really comparable imo.
I don't know, I kind of agree with him. I think a lot of stores will do the same thing if Mario Kart and Smash don't have the desired effect.

Looks like they're dumping stock to me.
Just came back from it. I was just on time before it opened, but there were around 200 people already waiting. (I heard people saying some were waiting for around 4-5 hours in line before the opening)
Looks like there were around 30 units, so a lot of running, pushing, tackling old people, crying and screaming was the consequence for trying to get one. I saw a woman who couldn't walk decently anymore, probably bruised her ankle because someone tackled her. (I heard her saying that)
Tons of commotion, disappointment and people were staring and looking in disbelief how everything happened.
If you want to know how it went, just look at any PS4 launch movie or gif in Germany and you can apply it to the Meda Markt in Hasselt. Media Markt is a sadistic chain who likes these kind of promotions and things. (I don't like it at all tbh, all the disappointment and savageness of it is disgusting if you think about it)
tl;dr: 30 units of Wii U sold out in a couple of seconds, probably more than this week in the rest of the country (couldn't resist, sorry ). A lot of drama. Belgium = the new Germany confirmed!
edit2: No, I didn't manage to get one. I don't want to get hurt for something I have already
Thank you for your report!
I just can't believe I paid 408 Euros on launch day for the premium pack and NSMBU (which I abhor).
If that makes you sleep well at night, I guess you can call it that.
So you are telling me zombiu is on the same level as a re4? I was not trying to discredit the Wii u, all I was trying to say is that I don't think that the current library of the console together with the grim looking future of the system is worth the price they are trying to charge for this. You sound like someone stuck in the past. Let go of the classics and give new games a chance. ZombiU fills the horror slot on Wii U.
You really have no idea what you are talking about do you. lolYeah fair call, after all they are dumping PS4 and Xbox One stock regularly too,...............
.................

Where do you get that from?So to be clear. You think a major retailer dumping stock of WiiU so that you will no longer be able to buy a WiiU from that retail chain again is okay for Nintendo?
You really have no idea what you are talking about do you. lol
The Xbone isn't even released in the country yet and you can't find a PS4 on shelves anywhere.
Ha, there's still hope for Nintendo I guess
I went to the toy store next to it afterwards to see if they had any promo's too. They have a lot of games etc. There were two couples who bought a Wii U Premium with NSMB and NSLU for 283, because they couldn't get one at the MM. I guess all hope is not lost
Yeah just what I expected, like EVERY other mm story I have ever been in or heard of.Just came back from it. I was just on time before it opened, but there were around 200 people already waiting. (I heard people saying some were waiting for around 4-5 hours in line before the opening)

Oh god, could that have gone any further over your head? lolllllllllllll
Because that is what Media Markt does, quite frankly. It's even not Media Markt as a whole, but just a single shop.So what other reason(s) do they have to sell them at 100 euros according to you?
What are you even talking about at this point?
It's the start of the solden period. (bi-yearly sales).
A time where stores do crazy discounts to lure customers to the shop and sell shit after the holiday period.
This is one store, not the full chain and on top of it, it was a certain amount which was reserved to be sold at that price.
This is not an attempt to get rid of their inventory and dump the product to never stock again. It can't be that hard to comprehend. :-/

It's quite common for them to have one or two crazy sales on something (be it electronics, blu-rays, games, whatever). Nothing "spectacular" like clearing stock.
So? You think you'll never again be able to buy a Wii U just in a single Media Markt in Hasselt? Pretty unlikely. But 100 euro's? Come on..
Clearly I've got the wrong end of the stick with the article in the OP.
On the other hand, the only time I've seen retailers sell stuff that is when they are dumping stock.

Dick Smith in Australia got rid of all their Wii U stuff at 50% off a few months ago. URope seems to have had enough of Nintendo as well.
Also, if you didn't already know: OP=OP these days.

Good example of why I avoid shops during solden periods.Took 2 pictures 3-5 minutes after it opened.
snip
Media Markt still sells Vitas after they sold the WiFi models for 99 euros back in early 2013 in Germany, so I don't think this'll be any different.
In other news: Indesit going out of business! Grab their washing machines while you still can!
lol
Also, to those who think MM isn't going to restock it. There were no other bundles in store today (probably took them back to the stockroom to 'protect' them), so you can be pretty sure they'll have the WW/LEGO City/NSMB bundle in store tomorow.
Even more shocking, I can order a Wii U Premium for 254 and pick it up right now @ MM Hasselt via their site http://www.mediamarkt.be/mcs/produc...(2300132),98952,453508,667011.html?langId=-17 I think this is enough proof of how Media Markt likes to do stunts with limited stocks of a specific device.

Converts to about 135 USD. It would have to come with Mario 3D World at that price for me to buy. It's completely dead in Europe, isn't it? That's insane. EU is the 1st or 2nd largest market?
