The Last of Us - Left Behind DLC new teaser video, preview and price revealed

15 bucks is a bit steep. Thankfully I can just borrow my brother's copy, so I guess that's better than having to rebuy the game.

It better be pretty meaty to justify that price.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
If so, then I officially don't like Sony's definition of 'early' (this and DriveClub).

March isn't early 2014?

They always said we will get new INFO in January, never said the DLC will be out.

Oh that totally flew under my radar, thanks but this article is from Sep 27. They probably had to push it back a few months.

Yes, I know.

I'm just bummed that we still don't have a release date when that was what they said initially, then in November they changed it to 'early 2014' and this is what they are repeating today. :(

I'm hoping this isn't some 1-3 hour long deal, I want a nice chunk of content for that price.

This'll be the first full priced dlc I've ever purchased.

Do you want lavishly produced cutscenes, lots of voice acting, unique art assets and set pieces? Okay, pay 15 dollars.

The price shouldn't be a surprise, of course some eight bit retro game that has none of the above is going to be cheaper...

Honestly speaking, I was disappointed by this DLC. Big TLoU fan here.
I guess I wanted a side story, not a prequel to the main game.
We all know what happens, Ellie told us already.

Bought the season pass before knowing this would be the DLC. Would not have purchased it after knowing.

Looking forward to TLoU 2.

I wouldn't assume she was telling Joel the whole truth. I'm not.

Same. To be fair though, I think they're gonna surprise us. Neil Druckmann said on Twitter that it's recommended to have finished the game entirely already, so I doubt that they'd focus the DLC on an event that's already been mentioned in the game:
Riley dying.
Something else has to be the focus imo, maybe Ellie's development, or how she ends up with Marlene, as seen at the start of TLOU.

That's fine and it does sound like a nice addition to the main story, it just can't be as great as the Joel/Ellie story. Nothing can, at least not in the past.

A side story would have that potential, that's why I wanted one.
I wanted the DLC to blow my mind just as much as main game did.
Doesn't look possible with this DLC.

Surprised they aren't taking this opportunity to introduce an arena type mode where you can go up against randomly placed enemies.

The Batman games had this, Max Payne, Gears, Halo, etc.

I love the main game, but sometimes I just wanna get into either the combat or stealth segments and bypass the story elements....Can't be that hard to implement.

The season pass did include the single player DLC too...right?

It did and with the documentary you get it's a better deal now than ever before.

The way Ashley is talking, it sounds like the DLC is rather long, so the price isn't too surprising.

Yup, ND is doing this from scratch. I think $15 is the perfect price.

Traversal/cutscene to gameplay ratio is priority here. I'm worried it'll end up being anything less than 50% for actual encounters. And if the dlc is less than 3 hours, then it's pretty much a rip-off.

It sounds like they're taking a different approach to encounters

And with our DLC, we’re trying to go even further past our comfort zone. There are a couple of long stretches in the DLC where there’s no combat, and we’re trying to keep you engaged in other mechanics. It’s going to be an interesting test for us to see how people will react to it.

Seems like they may be trying to test out to see how far they can go with people accepting less combat, which may play into whatever they work on next.

I'm curious as to what those other mechanics are. Perhaps more emphasis on pure stealth and challenging obstacles/"puzzles" for progression.

How long do you guys think this will be?

I'm expecting it to be around 5 hours long, maybe a little longer. The full game was 15h, so I don't see the DLC being that long.

I definitely think that we'll see a bigger emphasis on stealth. In the comics neither of them were really able to handle the infected too well. But that's kinda expected since they're just kids. (TLoU spoilers)
And Ellie is unlikely to have the weapons that she had during the Winter section of TLoU. So, combat is going to have to be changed up a bit.

With it being DLC it does give them an opportunity to experiment with ideas and mechanics that they might have been hesitant to try in the full game or just didn't have enough time to implement.

i don't get people complaining about the price. almost every dlc now is 15$, at least with this one it seems there's effort going into the content, and not just some cash-in. if you're so concerned about the price, just wait and buy it when it's cheaper.

Can't wait to tackle this. Just finished my first play through of the game this weekend.
Roughly halfway through my Survivor run now (basement of the Pittsburgh hotel after the elevator collapse).

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.

Saint fucking god YES.
I still feel TloU had too many.

Currently going back through TLoU again (Survivor NG+) and I love it so much, such an awesome game. I will buy the shit out of the single player DLC. And the PS4 version too, its coming right, right? :)
