NY and Illinois (bias lol?) dominate.

“Since 2012, The Daily Meal has ranked America's best pizzas, and it's been a half-decade that's seen America's pizza landscape go from spectacular to otherworldly. It's no small feat to set out to rank the best pizzas in America, but for the sixth year in a row, we've sought the nation's best pies and slices, considering more places than ever in our quest for the best”

Thanks, Giga!

NY and Illinois (bias lol?)

I mean, it is the Chicago Tribune.

EDIT: #1 Frank Pepe in New Haven, CT
Not a chance. I finally got around to trying them earlier this year after being in Connecticut for 6 years. They're above-average, but nothing to write home about. And their pizza left-over the next morning (an important consideration) is honestly pretty mediocre.

Hard to know where they haven't eaten, though.

I mean, 800 Degrees is essentially a chain here in LA. There's smaller shops with better pizza in town.

Holy shit Di Fara wins.

It is really good. Fun place to go too, it's like traveling back to 1960s Brooklyn.

Frank Pepe Pizza, New Haven, CT. Should be #1. Good New Haven representation at least.

Used to wait hours in the freezing cold for a white clam pie.

Nice to see Paulie Gee and Grimaldis on the list. (used to be Patsy Grimaldis but my law firm sued them and forced them to drop the Patsys)

(John's on Bleeker, lol)

Frank Pepe being above Modern Apizza is an outage. Who the hell actually likes FP's clam pizza?!

Outside of that, not a bad list. Roberta's in BK is ranked far too high though. Hipster pizza has evolved, see Milk Flower in Astoria.

Frank Pepe's is damn good...but it's not the best.

Then again, I know I'm wrong because I think Grimaldi's is best on Earth.

Looking at what they have from DC (2Amy and Pizza Pardiso) the list must be trash. Timber Pizza is the best pizza in DC (with Vace being the best deal) and was named one of bon appetit's 50 best new restaurants in the US.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Piquod's, Pizano's, Gino's East, Giordoano's, Lou Malniati's *kisses fingers* Chicago greatness. I miss the city...

Pizzeria Bianco is the one place from AZ, at #5.

I don't remember for sure but i'm 50% certain I had their pizza and didn't think it was that special. Was a bit disappointed Oregano's didn't make the list, though I guess I should be happy something from Arizona did.

Gino's East at #33 confirms the tasters don't know what good pizza is.

Gino's East shouldn't even be on a top 100 of pizza in Chicago.

The Chicago picks are overstuffed with local deep dish chains. I mean, i like deep dish, but Uno's, Giordano's? If that's some of the best pizza in the country ya'll have some shit pizza everywhere else.

Is it pizza?

that's the other problem with this list, the tasters seem to value artsy pizza as a "cuisine" over pizza for pizza's sake. so whatever that is gets applauded, but they probably turned their noses up at a good slice of detroit deep dish as too "pedestrian."

US has the best pizza in the world. Maybe Italy compares, but I had Italian pizza, US can go toe to toe.
