Oh yeah? I have never seen one of those in person. I might have to hunt one down, actually. I have so many variations of the original Gameboy but only an original GBA. Thanks for the heads up!
The brightness isn't quite as good as the PSP, but it really is quite close, and it is brighter than the GBA titles on the 3DS. I'm sure you know what a back-lit screen looks like, so you can imagine the improvement. The main thing people mention coming from the first SP is the lack of blue glow the side-lighting created. One thing though, those that preferred playing in sunlight with no SP lighting at all hated the AGS-101, because the on/off lighting switch is now used for bright/dim. No more turning off the lighting.
I love mine too, but it's got increased motion blur over the original GBA. It's generally not a problem for GBA games, but GB/C games are something else... when the screen scrolls in a Zelda, for example, Link looks like he's walking through a dream or something.
I just did a comparison with
Metroid Fusion on all three handhelds. The 3DS has the worst ghosting, far more obvious. The AGS-101 and PSP are about exactly the same, I really cannot tell them apart. It isn't an amount of ghosting I would've noticed without it being pointed out to me, but I honestly don't think it looks that bad (
curious about the GB/GBC carts now though). With the 3DS GBA titles I noticed the ghosting immediately, it's gross.
Damn, I have played through the beginning of
Fusion so many times these last couple of days. They just yammer on and on, as cool as it is.
This entire post reads like "This company didn't do what I want so I just stole their stuff because I decided they didn't deserve my money."
It's almost as if you're dancing around the issue. As if you you know it's illegal but you keep trying to justify it anyway.

That isn't what he's saying at all. He's talking about the hardware in your first bolded statement, which he bought and paid for, along with the game. How does that correlate with '
stealing their stuff' and '
them not deserving his money'? He even owns the hardware Nintendo would prefer he play it on for frick's sake, meaning the 3DS. No competition from his old GBA, DS Lite, or shoddy emulation, nope, Nintendo has mined him out completely as far as these 10 GBA titles go.
It is a matter of
Terms of Use, not theft, not morality. There's nothing he needs to really justify here, the risk is his alone.
