I actually do hope they can manage a satisfying conclusion here. Previous galactic scale big bads just mostly fizzled out with it being revealed that there was a bigger bad behind them. At least there's a new race and not a shader effect on an old one. The problem with games as a live service in general.

Though it won't change some of the core of what I want out of Destiny I'm sure, i.e being able to play all the content as a compelling single player story without being locked out of big story elements behind things like 6 person raids.

Destiny 3 is badly needed because it will actually advance things. They're stuck to a formula that works with the ps4.
