Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S3 |OT| Earthquakes Make Me Daisy - Tuesdays 9/8c

Here's why S.H.I.E.L.D. has a new director

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/08/02/agents-of-shield-season-4-spoilers

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director (Jason O’Mara) to be the face of the organization.

Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack (Henry Simmons), and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy (Chloe Bennet), aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good.

Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant.

Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) will roar into the lives of Agent Coulson and the team as a junkyard mechanic who can turn on a dime into the terrifying Ghost Rider. Will Robbie be a friend or foe to S.H.I.E.L.D. – as well as the world, itself? Meanwhile, Fitz discovers that socially awkward genius and friend Dr. Radcliffe (John Hannah) has started putting the finishing touches on a new, secret invention.

That sounds good, seemed like the show will have alot of room to maneuver considering none of the upcoming films will be mcu status quo changing.

Hmm. The inhumans were totally confirmed last season, so much that some of them were Shield agents. Is ex-director Coulson hiding things from the new director?

More on the new Director:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/agents-shield-jason-omara-director-918490

After months of speculation, Marvel and ABC announced that the new director wasn't a character viewers already knew on the series, but rather a new character played by Jason O'Mara. The only details released about his mysterious role is that he is "playing a character whose Marvel roots go back to the 1940s." For his part, O'Mara isn't even allowed to reveal the name of his new role or if his character has good or bad intentions.

"He could become a villain. I honestly don't know," O'Mara tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't know where it's headed. I also don't know how long it will last. Usually you go into something knowing how many episodes it will be for, but this is open-ended. It could be good, it could be bad, it could be hero, it could be villain. It could be anything. If the fans hate me and if the writers hate me, maybe I'll be four episodes and done."

If he ends up double crossing the team or something I'm gonna be so mad. It's just such a tired plot point, especially when we already had the whole Hydra inside Shield.

This comes off to me as the last bastion of hope for a truly connected universe. If SHIELD isn't back in the movies soon, then they really don't give a fuck.

Currently catching up with the show via Netflix. Just hit the part in season 3 where Jemma's time on that alien planet is detailed. There's an astronaut there...that she falls in love with? Conveniently giving her and Fitz a new love triangle? This is some romance novel level shit. Jesus christ. Why?

This season is pretty bad compared to 2 so far. They've really been stepping up the fight choreography from S1 on though, it's impressive.

S3 has a lot of the same problems S3/4s do on the CW. It's very unfortunate.

Is 4 the final season?

I expect it to be. Ratings are down and ABC seems to have a new strategy for more Marvel shows coming in the near future or something. They canned the planned AoS spinoff series, so I don't think they're too interested in building a Marvel ABCverse around AoS.

I hate to break it to you, but the episode where Jemma is on the planet is possibly the best of the season.

you might want booze to finish the rest of the episodes

Wouldn't AoS tie into the more marvel, maybe star wars plan. It seems like AoS would be the flagship ABC show.

It would be if its ratings weren't in the tank.

It hits syndication at the end of its fourth season, making it more likely to die at the end of this TV year. ABC can stop pouring money into a flailing show, making a little easy cash off syndicating it and move on to spearheading a different Marvel show.

Calling it now: It ends with Coulson dying for real and Daisy taking up leadership of SHIELD or a splinter group consisting of the show's cast.

Actor, Gabriel Luna, who will be Robbie Reyes on the show says they'll expand on the Ghost Rider canon.

“Because there is so little material on him right now, a lot of the show is going to be expanding the Ghost Rider canon,” Luna tells The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s really cool. It’s all me. It’s all on me.”

So we'll get CG flaming skull face:

“I am playing that. We have this great VFX for it, and I saw the mockup the other day and I thought it was completely finished. I was like, ‘Just throw that up on my TV.’ It’s a combination of CG and also some marking on my face so I can do some expressions.”

At least you can talk. Who are you?
So I went to the front page of Reddit today and I saw this:

Can someone explain to me what it is supposed to mean?

The arrow sub-reddit has been on suicide watch for a couple seasons. They've been broken so bad that the board starting posting stuff from other shows like Daredevil and stuff. Basically, everyone there has slowly started to hate Arrow for what it's become.
