Went to see them in Koln a few days ago, it was pretty good. Unfortunaly, I was standing behind the four largest people on the world and couldn't see anything. Just had to stand back and enjoy the music. Started pretty well, but I have to say that the longer the concert went on, the worse her performance became. But, since all the stuff they are doing is pretty taxing, I can't blame them. They actually had to take a 5-10 minutes break before doing the encore and she sounded pretty good again.

They're getting a fair bit of coverage in the UK since the Sonisphere and London gigs...

BBC Radio 1 played Gimme Chocolate! again yesterday.

This is amazing. Genuinely amazing.

I'm not some super-uber-death-to-false-metal-burn-down-Norweigian-churches dude, but I like me a bit of metal. These guys are awesome. The music isn't fake, there's some really great chops being displayed there, the riffs are chuggy in just the right way, the drumming is excellent, it sounds like great metal... and the J-pop elements really, really work. It adds a really nice melodic counterpoint to all the chug, and makes things cheesy but entertaining as all hell.

It entertains me no end to see uber-Metal nerds getting their jimmies rustled by stuff like this. Metal shouldn't be about trying to constantly prove your credentials, it should be about rocking out with your non-gender specific cock out, throwing up the horns, joining in the Pit, and generally having an awesome time. These gals seem to have that all covered. Fuck the haters.

So I bought the album on iTunes. I fucks with this album GAF. Not a track on the album that I skip.

I was listening to that track Onedari Daisakusen and I was enjoying it. While I was listening to it I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was listening to a Limp Bizkit song and then all of a sudden around two minutes into the track comes a sample of Durst scream from "My Generation". Since I am a pretty big fan of LB I felt pretty happy about that.

Is anyone here going to heavy Montreal?

Bought the ticket online. I have yet to receive it. But yeah, I'm really psyched about it. This will be my first metal concert in a few years. The two reasons I'm going are Metallica and Babymetal. 3 more weeks to go!

So jealous. I was at HeavyMTL and it was unbelievable. Such a great show, even if a little short. I hope they come back to Canada someday.

Oh my Giddy Aunt!

I gotta go to this in November, I was gutted I missed the show at the forum.

<3 BABYMETAL

EDIT = I trust that this means the KAMI band will be backing?!?

I've listened to the album and it's pretty good. Not Earth-shattering but it could have been a lot worse. Great musicians. My favorite songs are the first two (Babymetal Death and Megitsune).

I think it's the kind of band that's best heard live. I hope they come back to Europe soon.

So, i went to the NYC show last night. It was the fucking best, they demanded a wall of death during the encore, and they got it. Show was awesome, the Kame (backing) band got a few jam interludes where they got to really show off

They played the entire album, everything sounded great, even if i would have liked a little more live singing (i'd say 70-30 live to pre-recorded. Moslty backing tracks and some other random sections). Good amount of pyro which i dug too.

Really diverse crowd too, people from all
walks of life and music scenes. It was a pretty fucking great concert overall.
