1680x1050 is my monitor, so that's what I ran at, everything maxed(hair turned off, cause yeah, no), and was at 50fps the whole time.
60 fps is nice, would like it, but if it doesn't interfere with my ability to score headshots en masse, and doesn't take you out of the game, I don't *need* it. The hair thing I'm thankful I didn't like either, cause that tanked my fps to a choppy sub 20.
I command you to do this.
Surely you can find a non-spoilery place with good textures.
Edit: OK, those are the low res textures, now post the Ultra.
Anyone know what normal and alternate post-processing refer to exactly?
Antialiasing on/off -_-
It feels like we're going backwards in image quality.
Those are Ultra or maybe they require a restart

Unreal engine 3...
It's not going to get better next gen :\

using a 660Ti @ 1920 x 1080 benchmark maxed out (DX11 DDOF on) gave me a solid average of 60.57 FPS
Alternate enables diffusion-based depth of field. Costlier than normal post-processing, but some people prefer normal, hence it being an optional "Alternate" setting.
I call him Beng Farnklin.
Lol, you realize next gen will use Unreal Engine 4...
So yeah...it will get much better.
Why isn't this in any of those 10 outta 10 oh em gee reviews?Mouse sensitivity has the same issue as the other Bioshock games. Anything above the absolute minimum = too high, minimum itself = too low. Gonna need to edit the config to get this right before I get started properly I think.
Ran a quick bench before i have to sleep....2am here
3570k,670
Ultra settings netted a average of 48.7fps at 1440p with diffusion DOF
61fps without the fancy DOF
Game still runs well on an Core i5 2500K, 8GB RAM, with an old 6950

I got exactly the same results with my 2500k and 670.

Thanks. I might run a little lower than this since I'm running on a i7 930, but with a larger RAM pool (12GB).
It unlocked at 1am AEDT here in Australia (i.e. 45 minutes ago).
I don't think the current textures are actually the Ultra textures. There's a 10GB discrepancy between the minimum and recommended amount of HDD space (20GB versus 30GB), and the game's installation folder at present is only 16.9GB in size, which falls around the former end of the scale.

Just some initial config tweaks to fix two glaring issues for me:
XUserOptions.ini
MinMouseLookSensitivity=0.140000
MaxMouseLookSensitivity=4.000000
Change the min/max slider to something more comfortable. These work well for my setup. The default options are way too high, apart from the very minimum which is way too low.
FieldOfView=1.500000
Expands the FOV sider range. I like mine nice and high and this works well for me. The default max value was still too low.
I'm running a i7-920@4Ghz with 12Gbs of ram/GTX 680 , I'll run this game at max and have Liz call me at the end of the night to tell me I was the best she ever had.
