Told you guys it's a pointless feature especially in America. It may make sense in Japan/Korea but it's going to be long ass time before we get fast enough internet access in the US for remote play to be a useful feature.

Another question I have is can you turn your PS3 off remotely with your PSP?

Yeah, you can.

y'all should be ashamed
For those getting lag, you need to increase the response time for the Remote Play to +2. It helps immensely (but you still get some half-second delays).

Would I be able to connect via Private Network even if I am away from my PS3? I ask this because I cannot connect with the internet option at all. I keep getting time out errors.

Exactly what happens with mine, I can sign in and like I said earlier, it waits for 90 seconds then it times out. I really want to show my friends this feature/ play FFVII/VIII before I goto sleep yet alas I cannot. I really need a fix! I've messed with Port forwarding like Sony says in the trouble-shooting but I still get nothing! Can anyone help?

I learned how to use remote play fine. A few questions;

Can I not play my Ps3 videos on my PSP?
How do I save PS1 games when I play them through remote? I dont see a spot to put my PS1 Memory card in my Ps3 :lol
I dont notice a way to save it to my SD card either.

How do I just use the internet off my PSP as well? I keep getting DNS errors.

1. You can play any videos stored on your PS3 HDD(or in any USB port/card slot). You can also play videos via streaming from a computer.
2. Create a virtual memory card on your PS3. It's in the game part on the XMB. The PS1 game will take this as if it's a memory card plugged into the slot.
3. You can export virtual memory card saves to any external media such as your SD card by pressing triangle on the file and selecting the option to do so.
4. By using the PSP's built in browser, or you could use the PS3's browser via remote play. If you are getting DNS errors you have an internet connection problem.

Do you have the PAL version?

If so, then it's just not PS3 compatible for some reason. I tried it last night a few times (all 4 disks) and it loaded the PS logo and then sat on a blank screen for ages.

FF8 works fine for me.

Isn't is fully possible to allow PS2 games to do this kind of streaming to the PSP? I mean, its being down with PSX games and Lair (possibly other PS3 games in the future)...where does the PS2 fit in all of this? OH GOD GIVE IT TO ME HARD

Was there ever a solution to the problem connecting via internet? I too get the waiting for up to 90 seconds problem before it times out. It works fine via private network.

No.

With the PS2 emulation, the PS3 "switches out" so to speak making remote play impossible atm unless they do full on software emulation like the PS1.

PS2 remote play would be so totally hawt, but there's that controller issue as well i.e the lack of R2 and L2 and no right analogue stick would really be felt because they were used as standard for nearly every game out there.
