unless I'm reading this wrong and the secondary email is just to receive the code.

The secondary e-mail is just so you don't get an error saying you used the promo already.

You never get a code for the game itself, it's still added to your account by NVIDIA.

No you don't, Nvidia uses the secondary email you check since thats where the receipt gets sent to on whether or not you redeemed a code beforehand. Use a different email on the last step or a fake one and the game should get added to your library.
