Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Gameplay

Black Ops 3 was definitely not like this. If anything they went too far in the other directioin with every map being the same predictable 3 lane design.
Yes, BO3 does 3 way path, but I am talking about entry ways into a room. Before Ghost, rooms only have mostly 1-3 ways in. Afterward, each room have 4-6 ways in. Sure, it was a pain in the ass to remove campers, but so satisfying once you did it. Now, it's easy to just find an opening and shoot them from behind.

I always get shot from behind in every COD game so it makes no difference to me.
Before Ghost, it was easy to watch the mini map, see the game flow / chock point and move around without getting shot from behind.

BO3 is "choke-point the game". They made it a philosophy to go back to the 3-lane system. I like both very traversable multi-path maps and standard, 3-lane maps.

3-lane maps can become very boring though. When you're playing as a team up against another full team it comes down to just camping the middle of the map on all 3 choke points and "head-glitching" as much as you can.

Team vs team should be hard to get around. Team vs random should be worse. I play wit ransoms and love the challenge vs teams.

Can't be stated enough, another shitty Cod.

Wall running/Thrust just keeps ruining this franchise every year.

I remember when people thought "commando" was broke, unbalanced, and people bitched all day long.

I will take that over thrusting/wall running any day.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I decide to post after how gorgeous it looks in that first video and people are complaining it's not a looker. Man. Maybe you haven't seen AW, but this is leagues better IMO.

1. In the first video, we first see Terminal. A legacy map. We haven't seen many maps, at all at this point have we? Maybe 3 or 4?
2. Other YouTube personalities have commented on the fact that they have built the maps around strategic movement involving the exo suit.
No way a small-medium map can accommodate the movement system they are promoting.

I'm a lot less excited for this game now that I've seen footage from these videos. I'm still going to give it a chance because of Zombies. The only cods I didn't like so much was Cod3, Mw3, and Ghosts. This reminds me of those games for some reason.

You can tell the devs took inspiration from killzone, deus ex, mass effect, Titanfall and some previous cod, even right down to the gun design and characters

I am ready for a new COD at this point. I have done everything I wanted to do in BO3 plus with the BS they keep pulling with the weapons and cryptokeys i'm done playing it.

This game looks like a combo of AW and BO3 which works for me. I am looking forward to it.

haha well it's a sci-fi shooter, and those are all the leading sci-fi shooters, so it's safe to say you'll find some parallels.

Looks way more interesting than MWR.

Though I still need to see more of what's in there and I'm not sure I like some of the features of Black Ops making their way into this game.

It's been well over a year since I've played COD, it's great that we are getting two games this year, one of which is a remake of my favorite shooter ever made. This should hold me over for another couple of years.

Cause they're in space. Probably their boots keeping them from floating away.
I assumed they were in space. But that doesn't matter. Even if they're experiencing zero-g, they wouldn't just float away once their restraint to the floor had been removed.

Very strange if the multiplayer part doesn't have space combat, when the whole game have been marketed as Call of Duty goes to space.

I can see it working at with the fighters and landing on the ships with at least 24 players in the game mode. Although, at the same time many, many people don't want sci fi cod they want a modern 'boots on the ground'( or whatever dumb phrase) game. That is why Activision focused so much on that phrase because they don't want to alienate a chunk of the fanbase. The setting can offer far , far more at least in terms of game mechanics, but a lot of people will be very resistant to it.

The developers have to careful balance the game for the people who don't really like the sci fi inspired game features to those who want something new.

I swear since Black Ops 2 all of those games look the same to me, in MP at least. I guess there's still hope the SP could be decent?

I have to commend the COD teams. No matter how much shit they add to the game, it looks exactly like COD. No sure if that is a good or bad thing.

I've been a bit skeptical of IW, but something about it really has me intrigued.. but the weird thing is, I'm not sure what. I love sci-fi with a passion, so perhaps it's just the entire setting. Even though I love Treyarch's COD's (more than any other COD series), I was super skeptical buying BO3.. but that MP turned out to be one of my favourite of the entire series. Perhaps it's the same with IW? I wonder if it would be better received had it not had the "Call of Duty" name attached to it.

Either way, it definitely looks better every time I see some gameplay for it, and I can't deny that i'm extremely excited for MW:R. I may consider buying the Legacy Pro this time around.

I played both Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty Remastered this weekend at XP. Long Post Incoming.

Remastered is just as good (or bad if you didn't like it) as the original. The game plays exactly the same, the weapons feel great, and the lack of thrusters is refreshing. Obviously there is a solid visual upgrade and the character models look really nice. I played on Overgrown and Crash. Not really more to say about this.

Infinite Warfare was....ehhh. It has a ton of customizations. The Combat Rigs are essentially beefed up, finely tuned Specialists. i like this addition. Each one is focused on a certain playstyle, but its not mandatory to play that style. In fact, the stealth "sniper" Rig worked really well to cap points using its Active Camo ability. The active camo is near impossible to see and I hope they adjust that. The game was definitely toned down a tad RE: movement. I mean its not enough to really notice. You can still run on walls, boost jump, etc. Its a tad slower but still very, very similar to BLOPS 3. I found myself doing the same things in IW that I do in BLOPS. The weapons were really nice and I love how they look and feel. In the end, the best description I could give this game, is a hybrid of Ghosts and BLOPS 3.

Put me in the odd camp that will likely buy IW but not be amazed by it because it's just more of the same given the last few games - yet could not give a shit about MWR because it's the exact same game as COD4 with no MW3 style modernisation of in-game systems, or rebalancing. Also likely no dedis/server browser, and worse audio work. LOL

Fuck buying slightly better graphics of a nine year old unchanged game for an extra £40.

This I can agree with. CoD4 with prettier graphics doesn't get me that excited because it's literally the same game I played years ago and it just doesn't hold up as well either. Especially when the later games made so many more improvements and optimizations.

I usually get CoD most years but Battlefield has me all sorts of excited right now. I was never really into the future settings so I might pass this year though I will get MWR standalone when that comes out. They haven't been hooking me like usual while Battlefield has been fun as hell. I don't know if I want them to really shake things up or go back to the classic MW/WW2 stuff.

Edit; They're bringing back variants? Not my favorite :(

I always find it amusing that people suggest Call of Duty becomes something different than it ever was. Why not add a racing mode to multiplayer? Why not a on-rail tank mode in multiplayer?

With that said, every footage I've seen from the game it immediately reminds me of two games: Blops III and Destiny. Blops III because the gameplay looks very similar and even the HUD is almost a carbon copy. Maybe it's actually very different but just from watching it seems very similar. Destiny because some assets look like they were "borrowed" from that game. The sand map in multiplayer and for 5 seconds it felt like it was Mars, then some of the character designs look exactly like Destiny armor sets.

Can't wait to try the beta when it's available and make my own opinion. The last Infinity Ward COD game wasn't terrible, I actually thought the single player pacing and mission variety was very good (story not so much) and the multi player was different but not very fun to play due to the map design approach.

Is there any character customization? Can I play as a female soldier? How many perks can I have equipped? Is it like Ghosts with point allocations or is it like Black Ops with wildcards? What about killstreaks? Is it like MW3 Pointstreaks or Black Ops 2's scorestreaks? Is the Strike Package system still around? I haven't seen any videos or articles talking about that.

How do the weapons unlocks and progression work? Is it like Modern Warfare 3/Black Ops 3 with weapon leveling and weapon XP? It is like Ghosts with squad points? Is it like AW with performing certain in-game actions?

These are the things I'm now curious about right now. Cause no one seems to really be discussing it or maybe it just wasn't in the CoD XP build.

Honestly, I don't think it looks like that bad. However, I ended up buying into BO3, and while I loved it, I ended up getting mad when they locked guns/weapons behind loot boxes. I recall they did this with AW, too, so I'm pretty sure they'll end up doing it here as well.

Am I dumb enough to be fooled twice? Well, since it comes with MWR, I may just be...

No female characters. Specialists are back, but called Combat Rigs. Pick 10 is back so each item in your class is worth 1 point, pick 10 things. You have the ability to have 2 perks per perk tier (ie: 2 Perk 1s, 2s, 3s) This will cot 2 points though, one for the wildcard and one for the extra perk. The weapons were all unlocked for me during my demo so not sure on that. Scorestreaks are in though.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I hear some female soldiers in this clip. So I'm guessing it might be Rig dependent or the player is given the choice. There has to be some customization, otherwise they are going backwards from previous games.

Any answers on how they will handle supply drops/cod points? Hopefully someone has asked.

Asking is pointless since they ended up changing it.

AW wasn't supposed to sell loot boxes at first and BLOPS supply drops were supposed to be cosmetic only.

Just assume it will launch okay and then become worse. Seems to be their tactic.
