"Fry playing the holophonor after he gets the worms to leave his body"
LOL
SM3DL is the best Mario game in a decade. There, I said it.
3d land was really good. What I'm getting with nsmb is it seems like most give it a pass because the series isn't "mainstream" Mario. But is it really not? Wouldn't we have seen another style 2d Mario over the years? Is this what we're now stuck with? Getting nsmb u, a new 3d Mario and a more classic 2d Mario, say Mario world 3 would in 1 generation would seem like too much. I think were stuck with nsmb for one more outting :-(
Still don't understand the hatred the music gets, i actually enjoy it :-/
And i am totally ok with the Wah's and find the dancing turtles pretty funny. Guess i am a terrible, terrible person.
NSMBU2 is probably going to happen, but SM3DL 2 is practically a given

Good luck burning someone that has a +100 fire resist amulet! WAH-WAH.WITCH! WITCH! Burn the WITCH!
I couldn't agree with you more. Shh! Don't tell anybody.
I think the dancing enemies are absolutely adorable.I don't know why people hate the dancing enemies. They're awesome.
I think, for many, it's just become inextricably associated with the "BAH"s in their neural pathways. There is no other explanation.
I believe I created this track when I was 8 years old on my Grandma's Casio keyboard. Is there anyone I can contact for royalties?
Wah Wah is all I hear.
Jeff Gerstmann?
Everyone with exposure to the last 4 NSMBs sick of this shit they once tolerated?
This is the series that gave us SMB1, SMBW, Yoshi's Island, SM64, SMG, and SMG2. This is...subpar.

Do you not believe that the simplified electronic acoustic sound of the compositions behind the BAH are of a lower standard when compared to past performances?
Well the NSMB series in relative terms seems like some assembly line crap with lack of ambition, and the music is the most glaring indicator of that. That's why I LOL'd whenever anyone made a big deal of NSMBU like it was going to be some great system seller type Mario game on the level of SMB1, SMW, SM64 and SMG.
Pah, SMW uses the same melody almost the entire game. LAZY LAZY LAZY. Wah wah.
People seriously go overboard with this whole NSMB music thing.
I don't particularly enjoy the use of recycled music either (it's lazy and unimaginative) but the tunes themselves are fine, and fitting to the nature of the "New" series.
One of the most overblown "issues" of all time. It's really not something to get fed up with, at least to the point of not playing the game out of protest.
The dancing enemies are extremely charming, too. People need to chill out.

It is when the NEW series is doing its own thing, and you're still getting great music in other current Mario games. To those of us who are used to having very well done music in our Mario games going all the way back to the first one with such quality music being a hallmark of the series, it is not an overblown issue.

To me, the main offense is the castle music. It blows. And SMW has the most awesome castle music in the history of castle music. If I owned a castle, I would have that shit on loop.
Mario games have always been about the small details. It's completely fair to criticize Nintendo for this stuff.
Title Theme: alright (title)
Athletic: worst music ever (level)
Yoshi's Island: boring (map)
Donut Plains: boring (map)
Vanilla Dome: cool! (map)
Forest of Illusion: dreamy (map)
Valley of Bowser: to short a loop (map)
Star Road: yuck (map)
Overworld: sucks (level)
Underground: ambient crap (level)
Swimming: I can dig it (level)
Ghost House: annoying (level)
Castle: THIS IS A CASTLE *dismantles speakers* (level)
SMW's music is vastly superior to the bullshit in NSMBU. Sorry.
The fact that you think SMW has 96 levels say all that needs to be said.Same bland music, same bland graphics, same gameplay, same getting hit by an enemy cause they stop ta dance??? When I someday get a 3DS I guess I oughta avoid NSMB2?
Ahhh good ol' SMW! 96 levels, 6 mostly bad tunes to listen to throughout 'em!
No ways!*Dismantles speakers* to get closer to the original source of the amazing, I'm assuming?
Its kinda been forever since I last played it an 96 seemed like a nice rounded guess! The fact that you think SMW has 96 levels say all that needs to be said.
Wii U doesn't have custom soundtracks? wtf. Is there anything Wii U can do?
I wish they'd get rid of all the voice acting while they're at it. Sorry, Charles Martinet. Same goes for Zelda.
I'm literally passing on the Wii U simply because after a few BAW BAWs I turn the games off when I attempt to try the new ones. Couldn't take that long to remix some classic Mario tunes eh? Is it possible?
What has he lost?Your loss.
