Are you fucking me? This was supposed to be compared to Amazing Spider-Man #700?

Well that's disappointing. And the world spins on.

Not being comparable to ASM #700 is a good thing. For one, unlike ASM #700, Batman #17 isn't fucking terrible. Wednesday we get in the ramifications. WHO'S GAME FOR AN INTERNET SLAPFIGHT I SURE AS HECK AM.

...Yeah. That's that I guess.

Anyways, I'll probably pick up UXM and SA on Wednesday, or at least peek through SA to see if I really want to bother with it.

Considering there's fucking nothing to spoil!

Nah, there is, it's not big huge things but there is Stuff that is gonna be In Play in the next few Batman comics that I'm excited for after reading it. MORE WEDNESDAY, LET'S NOT GO THERE TODAY.

I couldn't have put it better myself. I'll be sticking around for Snyder's apparent take on the Riddler that's coming up, according to that interview with him, just because I've been wanting a new Riddler arc for a long time. I liked what little of him Snyder wrote so far.

<---- Underwhelmed by Batman.

Yeah I fucking read it, so what? It's not like it was Spider Man. I don't care enough about Batman to dodge the internet for 2 days.

I feel like everyone's expectations were through the goddamn roof, to the point where you guys are losing sight of the fact that it's an extremely well executed thrill ride of an issue, which ultimately is the only thing that matters that I'm able to say because it's vague enough.

Honestly it was a good take on the Joker. It hit all the classic Joker notes
(It felt like a more mature TAS Joker)
and still managed to put a new twist on it.
It does look like there will be ramifications though. As far as everyone's relationships with Bruce goes anyway, his family may as well be dead. Even when Joker loses he still wins.
(Don't highlight the spoiler if you don't want to be spoiled. I was really vague but you can still gleam at what happened if you read it, so don't if you want to go into it fresh)

This is one of the few times I agree with you. After thinking about it, Snyder really did a good job.

have a decision to make. I can either get:

Batman: Court of Owls
Spawn Origins HC vol. 2
Punisher Max vol. 1
Venom
Berserk Vol. 1
Astonishing X-Men Ultimate Collection Book 1
Infinity Gauntlet

or a combination of 2 of the following:

Preacher vol. 1
100 bullets vol. 1
Prophet vol. 1
Phonogram vol. 2
Uncanny Xforce vol. 2: Deathlok nation
Berserk vol. 1
Spiderman: Kravens Last Hunt

I don't know what to choose!

I like Carlie, MJ, Gwen, and that angry roomate Lawyer?
that Norah is neat too

I want Gwen to come back. This may or may not be inflicted by spectacular Spider-Man

she was awesome in that

I didn't peek but mine aren't. I'm still expecting it to be a big funny for Joker thing...can't wait I wish it was out tomorrow lol

Fuck.

The fuck.

Off.

I bet you watch porn and turn it off before the money shot.

Anybody who read all the tie ins care to explain why
all the Batkids were so depressed at the end? What did Joker say/do to them in their books that made them all emo?

We don't know yet, that's explored in their own books. So we don't have the real money shot yet. This all isn't over.

When the comparison to ASM700 was made, I expected
something big. Cheapest way to "kill" the family ever

Phonogram and UXF. Nothing in your list will beat either of those.

It definitely wasn't as bad as people keep making out. It just avoided a ridiculous conclusion, and everyone wanted something big. It was actually really, really obvious in a Hitchcockian way. Hitchcock was a master at taking a story and making you look everywhere BUT the most obvious conclusion, which usually was the conclusion he picked. Everything Joker did at the end was a distraction from the real point, and most people wanted something big and crazy and shocking to be that point. And it wasn't.

This is pretty much all you can say about it.

Anyways, more importantly...

Scarlet Spider #14 this week!

Dat Snyder Batman...hack work...

...the appeal of that series continues to escape me...it has to just be Capullo's artwork, I guess.

I was quite enjoying the series up to this point. We'll have to see how the series goes with #18. But I'll say this, with shitty writing and cancellations, DC is getting very close to making Unwritten the only DC book I read.

HOLY SHIT YES. I've been looking for a reason to pick up this series, but the older volumes seem out of print. So yeah, I'll bite. Especially if I can nab it for around $70-ish from Instocktrades.

Well, Dick, killed 2 or 3 friends, and dug up the bodies of tons of Haly Circus Members.

Barbara, he kidnapped her mom, cut off a finger, and forced her into some sort of marraige ceremony.

Damien, he forced him to fight who he thought was Bruce, to the point that Damien was willing to let "Bruce" kill him, rather than kill "Bruce"

Tim and Jason, I can't quite remember. I think he might have forced them to fight each other to save their respective fathers.

That Batgirl/Robin Year One is tempting, although the Robin book has fucking awful lettering for its captions. That era's boner for faux-handwriting fonts is inexplicable.

I think I've said it before but Batgirl: Year One is literally the only time Barbara is worth reading as Batgirl.

Ok gonna order UXF and Phonogram vol. 2. Decided to order one more though. Spidey: kravens last hunt or 100 bullets vol. 1?

Yep, it really is. And the new edition is totally worth it, as Batgirl: Year One has been out of print for a while and used copies are ridiculously expensive.

We'll get into it Wednesday. SNEAK PEEK: You're wrong, and you're wrong. There's a whole bunch of money shots. And Capullo fucking killed it. MORE WEDNESDAY, SO I HOPE Y'ALL LIKE SLAPS BECAUSE IT'S GONNA BE SLAPMAGEDDON UP IN THIS PIECE. THE SLAPFIGHT TO END ALL SLAPFIGHTS.

I'll be tempted by Promethea. Alan Moore plus JH III's art? It's a steep blind buy, but it'll be damned tempting.

I'm totally grabbing Catwoman. I'm very glad they're continuing this reissue. First volume was out February 2012, so I was getting worried when it didn't get solicited for late 2012 or early this year.

Did anybody notice in the GL solicits that it's not just Johns that's off the main book? All four books' writers are off as of the issues 20s.
