omg @ all of the "wish it had a disc" hurt feelings! stfu and buy it if you want more cave imports to come out!

"i wont be able to wait for it to hit used bins in 3 months for $10 blah blah blah"....

we're lucky MS has opened up their clenched-ass, tightly-controlled distribution system and let this game eek through. we're even luckier cave is taking it upon themselves to do it on their own. so any profit will go directly to them!

if you're a fan of cave it's pretty much your duty to buy this if you're even remotely interested in more coming out.

What ? You cant use allards to buy it ? Fuck that if true. I was willing to buy it again with free allards so Cave could get some money and the convenience of the game being a click away, but i am not paying that much for something i already own in a better format anyway.

If it means getting more STGs in the future, I'm 100% all for this. It's 1/3 the price of an import disc and takes a hell of a lot less time to ship.

Now confirmed untrue. You can use "allard" point cards.

Well, I said that because I already have the game. I wouldn't double dip unless I could get it cheap, or if I decided to sell my copy on ebay or something (which seems like a good idea).

I'm kind of relieved that this is going to be a digital release. I ordered my copy of the first game from the US (I'm in Canada) and it was held by customs for like three weeks. I'm wondering if there was some internal debate whether or not I was importing child porn, and I'm probably flagged as a potential offender in some database now. :) The game's fun though - totally worth the risk of having to inform all my neighbours I'm a danger to their children! Definitely in for 2X at some point (Paypal for Canadian customers, Microsoft. We wants it!)

I knew there was something fishy about credit card only. Wouldn't make sense if it took out options for 1 game suddenly

This is *so* cool! I love Cave, but I was getting tired of paying $80+ a pop every time one of their games came out. $30 for the DD version is a relative steal.

we wouldn't know that until after a security breach. it might save your paypal email, but unless MS pulls a Sony, they'll have nothing to do with your paypal password (that would defeat the purpose of paypal...then any old online store could just take your PW)

It is 1.2 GB, way smaller than the first DS but a bit larger than a lot of the other shooters:

They must have figured out a better compression for the game when they were fucking up the slowdown in the NA version. :p

I loved the first game, I purchased it sort of on a whim because I'd heard so many great things about Cave's work and it made me an instant fan. I'll pick this up next week for sure.

Pretty much. It's so absurdly rare for anything particularly good to come out of Microsoft these days that it'd be silly to not support their one bright idea in years.

This is very exciting.. And so strange. Usually I order a Cave game, and it takes longer to ship it here than it did for them to announce this and release it online.

By the way.. if anyone wants to pass the time... the Akai Katana demo no longer requires a Gold JPN account... just a free JPN account. Maybe old news but it was new to me...
