I wonder how soon we will know minimum system requirements for PC.

I'm actually waiting on this as well, mainly to see if there are benefits with AMD or nVidia. I think in the past they worked with nVidia for Halo on PC? But this is a different time period and Bungie might not be working on the PC port.

FWIW Windows 10 and XBox users can be in the same party chat, works well, though it took the Windows users a while to figure out how to direct the audio output between their various devices.

Ah, well that's kind of cool. Is that Windows 10 native or Games for Windows/whatever-it's-called only?

Didn't think about that - but will be interesting if they partner with one over another.

I was so excited to have PC friends be able to experience the world of Destiny, but worry if their older systems will be able to handle it.

Pretty sure they are doing it in house. They had jobs for a while about PC testers, and build specialists.

I wouldn't mind a real crafting system in D2 to make our own weapons and armour.

Maybe I'm in the minority in this but I can't stress this enough: please keep crafting out of D2.

I personally hate the majority of crafting in games and I feel like it's part of way too many games these days.

I normally dont care for crafting but if D2 has crafting, I'll craft my ass off.

Haha, I hear you.

I feel like it might be too complicated of a system to implement for the way Bungie handles this game. I mean, look at how often they "fix" the Crucible? Certainly, having a full crafting system would make that even more difficult for them.

I'd be happy if they just had some upgrade slots.

Man, I wish they could come to some sort of deal. If any game in the world deserves to be crossplay and finally break that PS4/XB1 barrier, it needs to be this.

I realize it's not going to happen. If Rocket League still can't do it, I've given up hope. But perhaps PS4/PC at least?

I realize the PS4 exclusives can make that a bit difficult but I think PC players will be find with having to see some people using weapon and armor sets that they can't get if it means having crossplay.

If it has an exclusive strike, I believe matchmaking can be set up so that it never puts PC players in said strike.

I'd be happy if they just had some upgrade slots.

That would be cool.

Gah! It's far too long until the next reveal.

I'm glad that so far they've said that nothing other than your Guardian itself is going to carry over. Blow it all up and start fresh.

I'm still not even sure why they bothered to try and soften the blow by saying "Oh but your personalization from the character creator will carry over!"

Destiny 2 will likely have a much better character creator, so being saddled with my choices from 3 years ago is not exactly thrilling.

Yeah, I'm not even sure if I will take advantage of it. My guy in Destiny actually looks pretty cool but I bet there will be some new stuff in the creator I will like more.

I think it's fine to offer that though so that players can at least link their character between games. Like they can feel like they're still carrying on with their Guardian in some way. I think anything beyond that though would be a mistake, and I hope they stick to their current stance.

I guess they might make it impossible to access Destiny 1's faces/hairstyles in the new character creator. That way veteran players have an exclusive way to show that they have been there since the beginning.

I don't mind that remotely at all compelling, but then again I've never really understood the peacock aspect of MMO games.

Please keep PSN and XBL separate. Por favor.

I've grappled with whether or not I'm gonna keep my Guardians looks in D2. I'm hoping Bungie maybe gives us the option to mess with their features once at the beginning of the game, I'd love to make my hunter, who's supposed to look like me, more accurate if Bungie actually has dreadlocks that are worth a damn. He's bald now lmao

(They totally won't smh)

Destiny 2 will likely have a much better character creator, so being saddled with my choices from 3 years ago is not exactly thrilling.

I think it was basically because they had heavily implied (if not specifically stated) when Destiny was first announced that the 10 year journey, despite obviously meaning full sequels, would allow "your" Guardian to come with you along the way.

That obviously changed as they simply had no other option but to build Destiny 2 from the ground up due to the issues with Destiny 1, so I'm not mad. But it's a nice gesture I guess. They didn't need to do that at all.

I'm still waiting to hear about emblems or if those will be done differently as well. They could be changing the shape of them, for example, which would make carrying them over a bit difficult.

And I assume the system as to how shaders work will be changing as well, meaning it would take too much effort to transfer those as well.

It would be kinda awesome if we were allowed to take one exotic armour and weapon from D1 with us, like we escaped with that on our backs and that's it.

As for our guardians coming over, i'd hope that this would be the case, although it would be nice to change our hairstyles etc prior to doing so.

I'm very surprised if Blizzard allows other developers on their platform after rebranding BettleNet to Blizzard App or what ever.

Maybe it went that way so there is a tab at the top. Blizzard launcher, containing blizzard titles, and Activision tab, containing Activision titles?

imo more likely Blizzard has shared some of Apps code with Activion and/or Bungie so they can create own Launcher for their titles. This way both have well designed Launcher while maintaining separation that Activision Blizzard has been doing. Blizzard App is so good at what it does, good layout and doesn't hog resources.

Very true. I love the Blizzard launcher (looks and function) and it would be great to see that from Acti.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Lttp on this I know, but just got my first Hawkmoon as a crucible reward.

Glad I didn't buy one with strange coins a few weeks back.

I hope they just put it on steam. There's no guarantee it will be a hit on pc. COD at its height still wasn't huge on PC.

At its height CoD was huge on PC.

Strange Coins hard to come by now days? I had hundreds of those things when I retired from D1.

Bump.

Various Destiny streamers got a box from Bungie, containing an invite for:

Bungie and Activision already announced Destiny 2 will be getting a gameplay reveal on May 18. The developer and publisher left out one minor detail, though. The reveal is actually a full day live event in Los Angeles, California where the press and select streaming personalities will have the opportunity to go hands-on with the game themselves.

I just hope that the fact that Bungie is giving an extended hands-on to a lot of serious players means that there is some confidence in how the game is shaping up.

That's exactly what it tells me. I have faith in them and it seems like they confident about it.

Yeah getting that vibe too. Hoping it's a good sign.

Only a couple more weeks!

Hmm, there were rumors that the press would get their hands on it long before that. If they're making a big event out of this, maybe there won't be any details at all before May 18th. I had my hopes on the upcoming Game Informer to have some information.

Well, my guess would be that the press will get (or already has) some sort of preview video and factsheet to push live as soon as the Bungie livestream airs. But yeah, some sort or Destiny 2 reveal/countdown through Game Informer or something would be a massive hype-engine.

Should also be said that it looks like the streamers will be able to capture footage from their play session at the event. And PS4 and PC versions will be able to be played.

That's great for PC fans to get a confirmation that they won't have to wait for PC footage.
