Seriously what is this 1080p hype about?

I'd prefer texture detail, lighting, effects, framerate etc. OVER resolution.

i have a 1080p 52" Bravia LCD, and 1080p looks fucking gorgeous instead of 720p which is upscaled to fit my screen.

"Dead Rising"(360) supports 1080i and it looks extremely solid on my set!
