Why the hell do these people almost always look like they're roasted in the oven?
Because they're not trying to be attractive, they're trying to show off their musculature as best as possible for competition.

I think this guy is a vegan fashion model or something... he was promoting some vegan protien powder or something.
This is a super super clear case of the before pic being taken after the after pic. The dude has the same build in both, it's just in completely different states. The "befure" picture is taken after drinking a bunch of liquid and before doing any exercising, and he's purposefully hunched and sticking out his gut. The "after" picture is probably taken immediately after a work out and with good posture.

here, he claims it was a 15lb weight loss, and it took him 43 days

Not going to lie: this thread made me feel a lot better about myself lol. I always assumed that I had to look like Statham or Srsly to even look average muscle wise, but I'm a lot closer to the pic on the right.More importantly, how do these men view themselves. Unique to America more men suffer body image issues, which I can understand when I see ads promising changes like this.
I'll see a guy in the Before pic on TV talking about how he always works out and eats right and I'll think, "damn right, guys like him and me gotta stay healthy." Then he says, "but I was a fucking fat ass until I used the Xross-Fit Survivor TRaining Core Duo." And then I feel like a fucking fat ass.
Is that guy really so gross in the first pic that he needs to change?

You can tell from his face that he had lost weight. He was already muscular before though--you can't see the veins like that on average builds.
This is pretty much exactly how my body is now. Just trying to get the ab definition that he's lacking.Just look at who most women like in pop culture and you have your answer. Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt 10 years ago, etc. They like guys who look lean but clearly work out regularly. Women like something like this:
Answer to all your questions ultimately would be "some do and some don't".
All those before and after shots are complete bullshit.More importantly, how do these men view themselves. Unique to America more men suffer body image issues, which I can understand when I see ads promising changes like this.

Brad Pitt in Fight Club seems to be a popular opinion.
When I look at these pictures the more muscled people are, I see less intelligence at first sight. I know better than that, but it's like muscles hide intelligence or something.
And the best way to show off your muscles is to look like a roasted chicken? How does being extremely tanned show more muscles?
You know that Jasons Ultimatum guy on this board is pretty ripped. I think he posted some pictures and he was close to Patrick Bateman levels.
My post might of been worded confusingly. I think a body like the one Ryan Gosling has in that photo is easily in reach. I know a LOT of people at the gym who are more fit than that, I've been working out for 3 months and looking that good (at least as far as musculature) seems ultra realistic. I'm optimistic I'll reach that, I know I can at least look that good in a t-shirt even now (my pecs and delts aren't that big though yet, plus my abs and obliques are very undefined). Why is it out of reach man?

A shame when they open their mouths though.
TBH This is my ideal body type i'd go for. Not to thin, semi muscle, good skin tone. Obviously not everyone would go for this thin.
Semi muscular? You mean no muscles?

Yes.is this a poor man's excuse for ogling at dudes' bodies?

To throw my own two cents into this discussion, I myself have the ideal physique that everyone's talking about (the Cristiano Ronaldo physique); I get checked out by women all the time especially if I have my shirt off. I'm lean, ripped, and have a high metabolism (due to good genes which I take for granted); I work out as well and eat all right (not super healthy, but good). Gaffers that have seen me in person say that I'm a handsome guy. I weigh 179 lbs currently but it fluctuates between 182 and 179 since I don't go outside a lot and when I do, I walk a huge amount of blocks which burns calories. The only thing that I hate about it is that other guys feel inferior to me and even envy me. For example, people will want to know what I take or do stupid alpha male tests such as wanting to arm wrestle me (which I ignore). It's a double-edged sword.
On the opposite side, of the spectrum is my oldest brother who weighs 155lbs, drinks protein shakes, as well as takes creatine. He feels inferior to me despite him having a ton of experience with women (which I do not have). He thinks that most women like big guys who weigh over 200lbs (his ideal weight/most guys' ideal male weight). So he has a massive inferiority complex. I disagreed with him and told him that it varies between women. I think that guys don't have to be big to be able to attract women; working out does help guys look and feel good for sure but otherwise, no.
I have friends who take steroids who massive inferiority complexes and insecurity issues; I witnessed one of my friends inject my other friend's ass with the drug. Hell, even guys at my gym have Adonis complexes/inferiority complex despite taking steroids. I myself immediately get suspicious when I see a ripped, massively muscular guy with tattoos in the streets or at the gym because honestly, they're downright repulsive to look at.
I know many women saying that they love a little belly or a normal guy, not muscle bound guys. Not even body builder levels, but good, athletic bodies are too much.
Personally, girls were telling me directly that I was getting too big and that so much muscles are gross and blah when I really started to grow during school. I wasn't even big, that Pitt in Fight Club pic is about right. Not as sexy lower abs, excessive abs training is for the mirror posers, not for me. Other girls were suddenly a lot nicer, though. But overall my experience was that guys liked it more than girls seemed to.and everybody, but especially guys, started groping my chest, arms and butt, not cool, bro
I got bigger, then I had problems with my wrist and now near constant bacterial infections in my respiratory system after getting my nose septum straightened last November. A bit more body fat really makes you look smaller. And muscle loss, of course. Blargh.
Personally I'd go for the guy with a stick pic, which is a nice buff body with enough veins showing but not the gross super vascularity or the laughable low body fat with abs but no real mass disco poser type. The body developing aspect is IMO not as fun as the feel you get when you lift really heavy weights and feel like a barely constrained beast, but that body should be achievable with a focus on strength training instead of only muscle pumping.
Would girls like this body? I don't know. Do I care? Not really. All I know is that the feel of pumped up arms that feel too big for your skin is incredible. The feel of veins pressing visibly through your chest or stomach is great as well, but to retain a really low body fat % I needed to eat like shit and was really easy to get enraged. Not worth it, IMO. Just like girls that don't like me or judge me for my looks.
Lay off the curls brah.

This isn't good lol
It's a muscle imbalance and looks stupid.
This is what my little brother is going for. He did pretty well for about a year working out normally, and now is taking about 800mg of three different injections a week. What was it that Zyzz took to bulk up? Tren? My brother is taking tren, test enth, dnp, and something else I can't recall.
Zyzz imo.
Looks great without a shirt and looks normal with a shirt on. A body that someone admires rather than feels threatened by.
To each their ownPfft I like it.
So you guys are saying when I'm totally ripped I still won't get girls or be happy? Damn.
So you guys are saying when I'm totally ripped I still won't get girls or be happy? Damn.
At 5'9 and 125 lbs, I don't think I tend to attract many girls with my body
fortunately I dress cool
Who is Zyzz? He looks ridiculous.
He's dead?
Oddly enough, I feel like my love of muscles came from a lot of the media I enjoyed as a kid. Capcom fighting games, comic books, and Frank Frazetta artwork all feature ridiculously thick muscular dudes and I grew to like that look.
I'd say Capcom is also responsible for my love of huge muscular thighs on women.
This thread is... I just can't. Oh, you crazy straight guys!
Heh Im getting bi vibes from "straight" gaf :3

Hey now, let not poke fun at straight guys who are comfortable enough to look at the male body objectively. We should encourage this.
