If the dev team takes advantage of each system's unique capabilities, I think there's some really good potential for some awesome puzzle solving utilizing all of the 3DS features (3D, cameras, motion, etc), or if not the puzzles at least really interesting ways to convey the narrative - see "that section" of the true end of 999 as an example.

Cost cutting and/or schedule issues I'm guessing. They may not have been able to greenlight the project otherwise, at least early on in the lifecycle for two new platforms.

Looks awesome; I'm going haft to buy a vita for this if it gets localized, unless the 3DS is hacked by then.

Looks pretty good. Im gonna guess 3DS is the primary platform of the game with Vita getting a touched up version based on footage

I like what I see so far. I wonder which platform its being developed for or which version will be better. The trailer looks like 3ds stuff.

On the 3ds you get 3d and a dedicated second screen for touch input. On the Vita you get higher resolution visuals on a bigger screen, possibly more fancy graphics(?).

I'm going through it pausing at certain things it goes by so quickly. I'll post my observations in spoiler tags.

The Cyborg is 0!

The person making the huge jump early in seems to be the Cyborg, and it looks like he's carrying the kid in green.

The Egyptian lady is fighting Sigma (the mechanic guy) over the knife.

Knife at 0:49 has something written on it, looks like _ay_lls to me.

At 0:51, is that a gun?!

Another skeleton-cyborg a few frames later.

A few frames after that the kid in green has the knife.

Manned Expedition, Chinese Room, Tu fui, ego eris....hmmmmm

The book "Schroedinger's Cat" is shown very quickly.

An ending where everyone dies, in what looks like a first aid room?! Three people appear to be missing: Sigma, The kid in green, and the Cyborg.

GLTM-KM506, Rhizome_9, Three Laws of Robotics.....holy shit @ that last one. A few frames later, GLTM-KM506 Download Data?!

Mars?

A frame of Egyptian lady stabbed!

Redhead Akane holding some kind of hammer-like device?

Cyborg is messing with something on top of the rabbit's head.

That thing earlier wasn't a gun, it was a syringe, as it's clearly being injected into Phi.

1:17, oh god what the fuck who is that woman?! She wasn't shown as any of the cast members. Is she who I think she is?!

Numbered cryogenic chambers?!

A bunch of probable puzzle rooms. It should also be noted that the music is a remix of both the 999 theme and the track "Morphogenetic Sorrow" from the first game.

This is one of those common Latin phrases. For expansion, it literally means "I was you; you will be me."

Idiomatically (and with better English syntax), it can be read as "what you are, I once was; what I am, you will [also] be".

"Monday" would be "&#26376;&#26332;&#26085;" ("day of the Moon", literally). It's just "&#26376;", there.
Plus, the trailer shows a red moon-looking thingy right after that...

This is a 999 sequel we're talking about.
I'm fully expecting some sort of mindscrew shenanigans based on each platform.
