No Options menu I guess cause it's a demo? Didn't see the grid in the menu just the gambits.
Oh, my beloved gambits, how I have missed you.

"I'm a minor NPC, nobody will give a fuck what I wear"I wonder what made her think this was ever a good outfit to wear.
Ashe looks so French in this piece of artwork.
FFXII always such nice menus. Random observation, maybe. Better than the overbright, eye-stabbing mess that was X's.
I don't remember the items "Nu Khai Sands" and "Prince's Kiss". Are they from IZJS or brand new items for the HD remaster? The items that cured confuse and sleep in the original were Smelling Salts and Alarm Clock, respectively.Oh, my beloved gambits, how I have missed you.

They changed some of the items. It was Smelling Salts that cured Sleep in the original. I don't know what Nu Khai Sand is, but it wasn't in XII.
Damn this looks good. Game cant come out soon enough.

If anybody is interested in trying the demo I would suggest just going into any random Best Buy, I went to one in Brooklyn last night and they had it. Not sure if this is confirmed but the game was running at 60 FPS(or it at least seemed to be). The game looks good though

oh shhhhhhitttt really? SWEET BONUS! wasn't expecting 60fps. (i know it should be a given on a ps2 remaster but alot of older games had the frame rate limited by its engine)
Need some double confirmation if you're not sure though.
Would be amazing if true. Could have just been that auto motion plus stuff being enabled on the TV though.
Either way, super excited for this one. I never really enjoyed XII when it first came out, but played it again a few years after it did and really got into it. It's been a while since I did a full playthrough again so bring on this remaster!
SE emailed me about EU steelbook edition if anyone was still wondering about that, looks like it might be Game exclusive in the UK
The gambit system was good, but when you think about it it was essentially "if ally is affected by a status ailment, remove it", "if enemy has buff, remove it". Beyond that it was more about who would be handling the attack or defensive spell casting, but going into specifics was kind of pointless. Still the best FF since VII, and it's dumb how Square has to restart from scratch every time they make a new FF game. I want a real FFT 2, and a real FFXII 2. Same game mechanics, just new stories and locations. But no, they have to risk bankruptcy every time making something completely new that isn't even better.

Which they're selling for 45 GBP.
I remember when they used to give steelbooks along with the normal case for free in preorders. Now they're charging crazy extra just for the steelbook...Not paying £15 extra for a steelbook, lol

Must have been a Superman fan.
I mean, those are the exact same kinds of braindead simple decisions you are making in a standard turn-based battle. I thought it was pretty great that I could automate all the simple stuff, and always have the option to manually intervene if necessary. The gambit system was good, but when you think about it it was essentially "if ally is affected by a status ailment, remove it", "if enemy has buff, remove it". Not too much to it really. Have one "healer" who heals any character under like 60% health, and have the other two heal when someone goes below 30% in case of emergency. Set up gambits to heal whatever status ailments you find yourself getting hit with. Buffs like haste, shell, protect, bubble, etc are super useful and it's totally possible to keep them up continuously. I also hear the white mage's drain spell is a surprisingly great attack.Anybody got any gambit tips? I don't think I figured out completely how to best use them when I initially played. Or maybe it's fun to figure that out?
Man, I just love the idea of gambits, still wish this could have been adopted more.

That is a little disturbing having him staring at you like that while you set up his gambits. Feels kinda dirty..............where's the other half of Vaan's vest?
EDIT: Nevermind, it's seductively hanging off of his shoulder.

Other than that, just have everybody focus on attacking the same enemy.
