That's a really good date! I thought it was coming sooner, with the trophies being out, but I like that I actually get time to breathe between releases now.
Purely design-wise I suppose it's easier to swallow that a warrior woman from a fantasy tribe that doesn't necessarily dress like humans, in a fantasy world, dresses like that. Still bad though (and terrible in that artwork).
As for Ashe, I think that outfit is actually one of the better Japanese fantasy girl designs. At least it doesn't highlight her boobs, like Cindy's outfit does.
The rest depends entirely on camera angles, which were also bad for Cindy. I haven't played XII, so I really can't say if that's any better in that game, but I think the other two points are.
I haven't played FFXII yet, mind you, but I think it's easier to forget the design when the characters have an actual purpose outside of being ogled: story, personality, and so on. Cindy had none of those, so she felt shoehorned into the story just for sexy time purposes.

Thats funny, I feel that Ashe is one of the best designed Final Fantasy characters and her design perfectly fits her as a warrior princess, especially if you use her as a red mage for example. Design-wise for me, she's just a notch below Balthier

Me too. You think oh man, half a year? That's kind of a long time, if you think about it from that respect.
But definitely OK with how it isn't shoved into a very packed Q1, so it gives some breathing room.

Yes. I vaguely remember following the development of XII when it was being made. I was so young then but I would check once a month to see if there were any updates. So much of it is a blur these days though and I don't remember it as strongly as I do XIII and XV and Kingdom Hearts II. Fun times, though.
You couldn't handle PS2 graphics in the PS2 era? And FFXII was pretty much the pinnacle, too...

They look very nice, but this looks better by virtue of just being FFXII more than anything else. Like, the original game obviously looks better than X/X-2 on PS2 to start.

It's based on the International Zodiac Job system version of the game. There are 12 classes and you have to pick one for each character. Instead of having one all encompassing license board, they have a specific one for that job. It also had more hunts, a trial mode and new game+, so I assume this will have that too.

Decent time, I maybe done with this next few month rush by then (Horizon, ME, Zelda, Persona, 1st FFXV DLC, last DS3 DLC, next Walking Dead S3 episode, Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 etc.).
Also nothing on my list this summer with firm dates after those since I'm holding off on Switch for a while and nothing on PS4 beyond those listed (and the last two Walking Dead episodes whenever those come out) that has a firm date interests me.

No Options menu I guess cause it's a demo? Didn't see the grid in the menu just the gambits.
