I wasn't sad until I saw the cover.
Without going into too much detail (since I can't), Nintendo was extremely awesome regarding the demise of the magazine. Without Nintendo's help, I doubt we would have even had a proper final issue.

God, why. This is just... sad. When I wrote stuff on the Nintendo Wiki I would write articles on all of the Nintendo Power issues, writers, history of the magazine and what not. I was obsessed with the magazine and its importance to the industry. Read the Game Over book, it goes into its beginnings in detail.
Adios NP, you'll ALWAYS be the best magazine that ever existed.
