It doesn't look like a robotic machine. It looks like Commander Shephard out for a stroll.
I am reminded of the LOST IN SPACE movie's take on Robby.
Blecch.
if you appeal to much to nostalgia you might as well not do a remake :\
why does he have one real hand? Looks hella silly to me
These are off set. You have no idea how it will look on film with proper lighting, CC, and how the director chooses to shoot.

yeah, its all black. very iphone. every recent robotic character ive seen has been bright metallic.
but you cant just take away the visor, the visor makes it. its like talking away hals red dot.
It doesn't look anything like that hideous crap.
The visor most definitely does. Are people in bothering to look at the images?

Well, they're obviously not filming that. He was probably on a break or something and took it off.

What the fuck. Trying to look edgy and up to date with the times too much.
Classic Robo cop suit wouldve done fine.
Looks like those suits in the Paris scene in GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra Surfer.
Looks too much like just a guy in a suit, unlike the original which actually looked like a machine.
I hope he does some robot dance moves. Will he be slow and clunky?

This is a perfect illustration of why the visor is gone, actually, and why I don't mind the new helmet. Not sure I like it yet, depends on what they do with it.
They're never going to remake 2001, but we'll use it to illustrate the point anyway. They would have to kill Hal's red dot if they did. It's TOO iconic, to such a degree that it would be distracting from the film. HAL itself is the essential part of the source material, the visual is not.
I think dropping the visor is a smart choice, because it gives them a chance to do new things without that link to the classic version of the character constantly distracting viewers and reminding them that, hey, this new Robocop might look like the old Robocop, but he doesn't actually act like the old Robocop at all. It also avoids the misstep of doing the visor "wrong," which in my mind would be far worse than simply removing it.
The rest of the suit, however, is atrocious. A lot of people here believe they can fix it with CGI, but if that is what they are doing count me out. The texture of the costume is hardly its only problem, or even its worst problem. His entire body would need to be CGI for the entire film for that to look good. I'd love to be proven wrong, though. Maybe he doesn't have the whole thing on? I just can't see why he has that silly ab/pec/shoulder batman armor look unless they're planning on portraying him that way in the film. =/

How in the hell does the new robocop helmet recall the OG one?

this design does have the visor though. its a thin red line. i think its pretty sleek and modern/minimalist
Lol, first thing I thought of. Just thinking how awesome a Crysis movie could be. Have Jason Statham play Psycho.space marines
looks like a bastard mix of crysis, mass effect and the dark knight
It does seem generic, but that's just because it's following the modern design trend of having everything be form-fitting and 'dark'.
The more colorful, bulkier it looks; the more of a toy it looks like; and thus seen as 'cheesy' and 'lame' by many people.

it doesn't look too good from the pics....but GAF! PLEASE remember how much crow we ate when we first shown the tumbler(batmobile). Give it a chance!
