How is that disrespectful? The fact is that Courtois clearly is the future and Cech is way too good for the bench. Cech is a fantastic guy on and off the field, and a fucking Chelsea legend, but it's time for him to move on.

When did assists become so relevant? Sure they are an important aspect of the game but in recent years it's almost become as if they are held in the same stead as goals. Certainly wasn't like that 5 or so years ago.

Well, I'm not basing it simply on them currently hammering Burnley. They were right up there last season and fighting to the end. And this is definitely a stronger team than they had last year. They haven't brought in a lot of players, but what they have done is brought in the right players in the right positions.

I never stated they were definitely going to win it anyway, just that they are one of the big favourites to win it.

When people became obsessed with stats as they are easier to use as a trump card than it is to explain your opinion.

An assist is a goal? They are almost the exact same thing. If you assisted, it means your team scored a goal, so obviously it's important.

So in a situation where say a centre back plays it forward 5 yards to a centre midfielder who then proceeds to smack a ball in from 35 yards out the pass from the central defender should be held in the same light as it contributed to the team scoring a goal?
