Lol fucking cunt. Look at that follow through on his shoulder. thank goodness the ref saw that. disgusting piece of shit.

Stones should be aware of where Rooney is but the keeper has got to do better, surely? It's straight at him.

Its a Rooney at pace and power shot, he placed his body right and it hit his inner thigh and went in as he was dropping to create as much body space to hit. Not much more a keeper can do. Also wasn't Stones fault as Rooney came in from deep.

If City are so desperate for their fans to sing, they should just do what they always do and pay them.

Lol at the middle aged man with his kid beside him. Fucking muck-savage.

I agree. Ederson actually did something, he moved the leg to deflect the ball but at that close range it's a very difficult save to do. This isn't Lloris yesterday wetting the bed.

Stones could at least thrown himself into the path of the ball but he decided to play statue. But the tracking part was the responsibility of someone in the midfield.

He's peddling the idea that somehow other English clubs were innocent parties punished for Liverpool's transgression

English clubs were banned because football hooliganism was a problem across English football - Liverpool as a club got a longer ban than everyone else (although it is fine to argue that only an extra year isn't sufficient), and the individuals involved were punished.

So when someone makes a point about how being proven right about Hillsborough might improve relations a bit, and they respond "yeh but Heysel", they are either so ignorant about the subject that they shouldn't air their opinion, or just being malicious. Either way, its not a reply that really deserves the benefit of the doubt

You're being a bit precious, and certainly presumptuous.

I didn't equate Hillsborough and Heysel. The discussion was about how and why Liverpool are apparently disliked by large numbers of British football supporters. Like it or not, Liverpool have a reputation from the 70's and 80's that means a lot of football fans from those eras especially really do NOT like Liverpool. Heysel is an unfortunate part of that, and one that can't just be shouted down by trying to suggest anyone who mentions it is using it to pass comment on or excuse Hillsborough.

Liverpool aren't the only club who are still disliked from those eras for their off the pitch reputation. "We all hate Leeds scum" gets chanted up and down the country by fans of teams nowhere near Leeds or with any rivalry to them.

My comment was merely a response to the suggestion that the Hillsborough verdict would improve Liverpool's image amongst those who already don't like them as a club. I don't believe it would (or in any way has), as Liverpool's negative reputation isn't just connected to Hillsborough. Or even just to Heysel, while we are at it. And no it's not just them either.

EDIT: Totally should have replied to this earlier rather than at HT in the City game..

Stones was at fault. Who is he marking? If he's marking the area he should cut out the pass or at least stick out a leg to block the shot.

After everything that was said at the beginning of the season about punishing diving, do you reckon Calvert Lewin will get a retrospective ban?

I'm pretty sure what he did fits what they describe as the “successful deception of a match official”.

Most expensive squad ever assembled, this. Got done for 2 foul throws.

Considering the money spent, City have been massive underachievers since the oil money came into the club. It's been 9 years now, compare that to what Chelsea achieved in the 9 years since 2003. They both spent shitloads, but Chelsea spent far better.

To be fair, when Chelsea were spending as they were no other clubs had as much money. Now most prem teams have a lot of money

No. This ref is too hubristic to admit he fell for a con.

It's all relative. City have the funds to outbid any team, just like Chelsea did back then.

Can't dive if you've been shoulder barged off the ball. Exaggerated it? Perhaps. But it was an off the ball tackle
