sure, but as always, if you just ask, generally us (or Naughty Dog in this instance) is happy to address the feedback to make it work.

Just removing something from the art without telling anyone until it's final is rough.


I think (and I may just be making this up) you can see a silhouette where she was in the LOU cover to the right in the trees. I could just be seeing things though

Yeah, I don't disagree with that. I just wouldn't be quick to call this sexism, especially since 1 of the 4 choices had Ellie in the foreground (I think it was the best of the four).

On a serious note, didn't Naughty Dog mention something along the lines of there being objections to putting Ellie on the cover? I know there are still issues with sexism in the industry, but god damn, is the game REALLY going to sell that much less because a female main character is on the cover? It just sounds really silly to me!

You'd be surprised at the reasons why people would avoid a game... sometimes it's the art, sometimes it's the title... :/

Why is that odd? It sounds like it was specifically done to be used as a cover. The original will probably come out eventually.

If you're being serious, it's Ellen Page's character, Jodie Holmes, from Beyond: Two Souls which is coming out in October. (the joke is that Ellie = Ellen Page when The Last of Us was initially announced and both games were kind of announced at the same time too)

IDK, it just seems logical that in Druckmann's initial tweet he'd post a comparison pic of what was edited. Not that I'm saying he's lying outright, but in a court of law there's a sufficient lack of evidence here to cast doubt. He probably is right and the GR guy is just covering their asses, though.

Maybe he can't post one yet? Whatever the case is, I don't think there's any reason for him to lie about Ellie originally being in the picture. The edit probably happened way before the users were allowed to vote on the cover too. :/
