What, like GT was? It could be delayed at any time, and very little has been shown about the game recently.

SolidSnakex said:Why wouldn't it be released at the same time? Every version will be done at the same time. GoW3 will be out the way, and that's Sony's other major release this year. There shouldn't be anything else releasing that would cause them to space out the release dates.

Q1 is already full of great game releases, so I can wait.

Hey if Prologue can render 16 high res cars on a track as it does it can do that many in a garage with ease. Walk into a dealership and walk around the cars. Take a peek to view the interior. Take the car for a spin outside the dealership. Funny to think that PGR3 is over 4 years old now. I think GT fans would love this feature and I'm sure Kaz could see the appeal. Graphically the game is built for a mode like this.

SCEJ has decided to postpone Gran Turismo 5's projected release of March 2010 due to development issues.
We will announce the new date as soon as it is finalized.
We apologise to all those who've been eagerly waiting for the game's release.
GT PSP was released simultaneously worldwide. Wouldn't be surprised if they do the same with GT5. I was actually expecting a worldwide release before they announced March for Japan and TBA for everywhere else.Iknos said:WW release at a bit later date means more time either polishing the game or including planned features all the while working on the localization.
At the same time the releases were always staggered by at least a couple of months. But those games weren't as ambitious as GT5 and they weren't 4-5 years in the making.
A WW release makes sense but at this point it's hard to guess what's going to happen.
I'm ok with these delays if it means a high quality product but at this point I'm expecting near perfection in all the little more often overlooked aspects. It better have the ultimate online setup and more camera views than in the TT. Customizable FOV...things like that.

Sony Europe has said that Gran Turismo 5's latest delay is "only applicable for the Japanese market", although the platform holder also declined to estimate when the game will be released.
"This information on the GT release is only applicable for the Japanese market," the company said in a statement to Eurogamer. "SCEE will announce the launch date for this game in the PAL territories in due course."
Sony Japan had announced a March 2010 release date for Gran Turismo 5 at the Tokyo Game Show last year, while SCEE had been a little more cautious, declining to confirm a date for the much-anticipated Polyphony Digital racer.

I wish I could find the post... but someone suggested that they were going to delay it when they started going on about all this 3D stuff. I also wouldn't be surprised if they were going to now try and shoehorn 3D in there for release.G Rom said:What if the delay was to make a worldwide release alongside the new Bravia 3D HDTV ?
Of course it's only applicable to the Japanese market. You can't delay a title that never had a release date.Manticore said:Read the fucking statement then start bitching, "only applicable for the Japanese market"

Technically it's the first official delay. We know it's been delayed more than that in reality (vs internal timelines).andymuza said:No it isn't.
Gafapastismo said:I think that the first release date was given at TGS09,and it was March. I can`t remember any delay.
andymuza said:Yes it is the first delay on an official release date. However, target dates have been set and have never been met. They had aimed for a couple of dates last year and did not meet them..

Maybe they want a worldwide release?
