Damn it, why is the sound still so poor here? You'd think if PD were going to nail the sound for any car, it'd be a bloody GTR!
Im confused. To me the sound is much improved imo. Sounds night and day. No longer a vaccum cleaner.Damn it, why is the sound still so poor here? You'd think if PD were going to nail the sound for any car, it'd be a bloody GTR!

Why does the GT6 footage look artificially dark? Even just looking at white hud elements, you can tell something's off with the capture.

God I wish GTS sounded like that.
The game looks nice. Outside of the way the cars are lit (which PD does so well) it looks like all other current-gen racers at best though guys. A bit of hyperbole to say otherwise, heheh.
That dude been on the downplay train for any racers that's not on his xbox or PC for quite a while (mainly any Sony games he hates and belittles)No way. That's totally not true at all.

Are you actually playing the beta? You just said on the previous page that you wish you got in. So you're judging the game in motion from shitty YouTube compressed footage, right? You're also comparing an unfinished game to finished games.
Are you actually playing the beta or looking at the in game shots?
Driveclub is the fucking best mangHas obviously not, unfortunately, not even in the photo mode scape .. (
As a reminder ( fresh shoot)
Are all three people in this conversation (myself included) actually playing racing games on PC/X1/PS4?
Or am I the only one?
Lighting and cars look nice, the tracks/gameplay graphics are at best on par with current-gen games and can't stand up to parts of other games. Are you actually playing the beta or looking at the in game shots?
You don't play beta like me, but IMO, graphics are not on par with current-gen sim racers. It's obviously above, even in beta state.

Hmm perhaps you made a comparison thread then?
just curious though, show me the forza at 4K that you said exceed the GT Sport.
Other FM6 gameplay shots. We're not talking photomode/replays.
Turned the HUD on. Light glancing, grass along tracksides, etc.You can see small details like grass even at 103mph.
LOL! What a bad excuse!
So what about quality. In that "bad" comparison, GTS looks better OBVIOUSLY. Cheers. I don't see a problem in that video. You should realize that if even in that "bad" video something looks better, it's so goddamn obvious and logically in video with better compression and bit-rate one game will look better again.
Yikes (at the quality of that video)
There's absolutely nothing in that video that would alter my opinion.

Different time of day in GT6 and dodgy capture settings.
PS3 is a beast.
GT6 PS3 looks better than the piss filtered version of GT6 on PS4 Pro.

That color dithering/banding though, lmao

I agree with you. I don't understand the guy who went 'wtf' at your comment.

That sounds sooooo much better. Sounds great
Where is this from? Thats the best dust i've ever seen in a racer?
Dennis Baxters job is to design the sound of sports, and he is our guide in this documentary. For nearly 20 years hes worked on the Olympics, defining how the broadcast will sound, always trying to increase drama and excitement. For him, closer is generally better. If he can put a microphone on an athlete, he will.
At the Oxford-Cambridge boat race, the TV coverage is enhanced by microphones on the cox in each boat. Wimbledon has a special sonic drama all of its own, as we learn from Bill Whiston who mixed the sound of the 2008 finals.
When good sound isnt available, its not uncommon for a prerecorded sound to be added to cover the shot.
The experience of live events can be highly produced, very different from the experience of being there. Is this enhanced sound so very different from that of a film or a video game? We meet a Hollywood sound effects specialist and a video game sound designer to find out what they do to create a sense of authenticity and excitement. Are they raising our expectations of how real sport should sound?
My car is in all of these games and sounds rubbish in most, so it's not that. That's a very good take though, very interesting.I don't have the beta and haven't even listened to a clip of the game, but discussions of the audio in GT (and racing games in general) always make me think of this great 99% Invisible podcast called The Sound of Sports. It has, unsurprisingly, some excellent audio in it, but the story of how "enhanced" live sports are acoustically is extremely interesting to me. It also touches on how "real" doesn't sound "real" enough to us anymore sometimes.
And don't forget that AC has learned some sound tricks since back then as well, listen to that Audi Quattro S1 E2(last month's free car) and all the sound done just using that stupid f-mod rev-range sample-looping tool and some set sound events.AC

It reminds me of a GIF posted on this forum.Where is this from? Thats the best dust i've ever seen in a racer?
That been true of the GT games for a long time. A very long time in my opinion. Lighting, car modelling, replays, photo mode... all areas where Polyphony Digital shows the competition a clean pair of heels. The lighting is the best I've seen in a racing game during replays
