We don't know if this is fake. Usually for random stuff you can assume it's fake if posted on the 28th of December.

But this is huge. This is legit big. This news had to be broken as soon as they were aware of it.
The chance that some people might think it's a joke is the unfortunate reality of breaking news on this day.
