False in that it rode the wave of it's casual gold strike. I bought 3 Wii's in the day and also went in at 4am to get the first one. SNES, NES, DS, 3DS, and GB family's were great and speak for themselves. They've just happened to have faltered with N64, GC, Wii, and WiiU. To their credit, at least GC with at HW parity and easily a more powerful alternative to PS2 but Nintendo was already in the corner they are now and never got the support. This does have striking similarities but it's even worse now. Nintendo has missed countless AAA and indie games that have come to Sony/MSFT platforms. That's why they aren't my go to anymore. For hand held, I love 3DS. COnsole space, they are wasting my time with their efforts and I do wish it was different.
Me investing in their platforms and buying games isn't some nice trick to play face here. I like what I see and Nintendo has certainly had more wins than losses with me but their losses have been the most recent in the console space.
