Who says XBO is the PS4s nearest compititor? There is something called the 3DS.
Also, I'm told by Sony that @tombraider on PS4 outsold the Xbox One version 2:1

geoffkeighley: per @LuckyLongworth: PS4 was #1 in sales for next gen consoles in January, nearly doubling the nearest next gen competitor.
plot twist: "closest next-gen competitor" is Wii U
j/k guys

~145 for Xbox One.
Not Wii U colapse, but not good sales.
145k would be a terrible figure.
What was the worst January for Xbox 360?

edit: beaten like the broncos
Comparatively, Xbox One consoles have sold at a rate of 2.29 times faster than Xbox 360 in the U.S. in the same timeframe for the first three months on the market.
It's hidden in there. 2.29x faster than the 360 which sold 1.96M units in its first three months. Subtract the 1.82 Xbones sold through in Nov-Dec and you get ~140K. Or 146K more precisely by what I have.
Wii U Dec 2012 (460k) > Jan 2013 (57k) = -88% drop.
X1 Dec 2013 (908k) > Jan 2014 (145k) = -84% drop.
Extremely big drop.

Incidentally I was wondering, may Superbowl have given somehow a boost to XboxOne?

So many people were off on their predictions this month...wow.
So are we gonna have to put Xbox Won on suicide watch?
So, let's say these are the figures:
- PS4 - 290k
- Xbox One - 145k
- Wii U - 40k (complete guess but probably close)
That gives a total of 475k.
In January 2007, where we had the exact same situation of a console that had been out for over a year, and two that were just released the year prior, 947k consoles were sold.
That's not good.
Seriously, as others have mentioned, I have no idea how PS4 got to that number. With them shorting January by pushing the stock into mid/late December, and saving up console for Feb. Japan launch...I just don't understand it.
It's just US numbers, hidden in their PR:So is this just NPD numbers, or is it worldwide?
I suppose they could be being super precise and counting the number of days on the market.Comparatively, Xbox One consoles have sold at a rate of 2.29 times faster than Xbox 360 in the U.S.
It might need a blackboard soon enough
include titanfall and pricesfall as potential saviors
150K for Xbox One? That can't be right, surely.
What did Wii U sell it's first January?
The thing is, could MS compensate January and maybe February difference with Titanfall launch?

We can already put Launch Games on the list to be scratched off.
So it is a WiiU level collapse. Heh.
Oh, oops. Lol, my bad. That was me multiplying the 360's first three month total by 2.29.Well why did you say:
