But what does this mean for any future VHS/4K BD combo?
Yeah, I'm just as amazed as you are they they actually made VHS/BD combo players.
More VCRs sell in a month in Japan than Xbox Ones sell in a year.
Naaa. They'll probably go one step further and build 30 line mechanical televisions. Now hipsters can create a market for "warm, organic, compact analog image quality"
It's true...it's true.wait....
WHAAAAT??!!!
They sold 750000 vcr last years, to who?

What are some examples of quality content that only exists on vhs?
Don't worry in like ten or twenty years there will be a retro resurgence of VCR's by future hipsters. They'll be talking about how the sub HD picture is pure and how they have mastered using the tracking knob.

Do you still use VCR?[/QUOTE]
I still own one and it's still hooked up to my old CRT but haven't used that shit in years.
There are actually a lot of older cartoons you can only find on VHS, movies that never made it to DVD, made for TV movies that are mostly forgotten, and the always fun super rare recordings of movies that they refuse to release ever again. What are some examples of quality content that only exists on vhs?

Was it Cowboy Beebop where they had to go to some abandoned sky scraper to find a VCR? That's what this reminds me of.

RIP.
Remember when dedicated tape rewinding machines were a thing?
They were better, cowboy. The real news is that Betamax lasted until last year.
Old people.
Still have a VHS player at home, never getting rid it.
(Old man voice) Back in the day, we would record NFL/NBA games on it on EP mode. I would have the remote on hand and pause it at the commercials.
Remember when dedicated tape rewinding machines were a thing?
The best noise was the "CLACK!" that happened when you were done rewinding.
It's weird. Back then, we would try our darnest to skip over the commercials, but now whenever I go back to watch old tapes of stuff I recorded off TV (mostly Cartoon Network), I only watch the commercials.
This brings back memories of elementary school. When the teacher wheeled out the TV cart you know it was movie time.
"BD".an uncle still has his VCR next to his BR Plaayer, he is such an old school fool lol then again he has a big collection of VHS Movies
"BD".
What's really amazing is that Video CD is still a thing and continues to get new releases.

I have one that I use to watch tapes I find in yard sales, abandoned buildings etc.
Might be time to grab another one as a backup unit.
I have a working VCR I bought back in like 2000 sitting in the closet. I still have working tapes as well. Super terrible platform now, but man that nostalgia. Real surprised Japan was still making VCRs up until recent.

Okay, I'm curious what you found.
Pr0n. Thousands of it. Waiting to fill that VHS's slot.
Fortunately Red Letter Media is still repairing them.
