Media Create Sales 6/4 - 6/10

Playing pachinko is really really expensive, it can be anywhere from 10 dollars to 100 dollars a game in a pachinko parlor. My guess is that people buy these to practice at home. Every pachinko game has its own peg pattern and finding the hotspot takes some skill (apparently, I've only played pachinko once).

Also I think people just like playing pachinko.

Wait....You have control of the ball after it launches? Can you even choose where to launch it? I though it was nothing more than inserting balls into the hole and staring at the panel.

You control the amount of force used to launch the ball into play. On an actual machine there is a knob. The more you turn it to the right the farther the ball is launched. I would imagine the analog stick would be used for this in the home versions. But once the ball is in play you have no further control over it. However, at certain times you can get more point for the ball landing in certain zones or hitting certian pegs. Thus you need to pay attention to what the machine is doing and adjust your aim. My friends who play insist there is skill involved. I don't know about that but I will say there is more "gameplay" in pachinko than in slot machines. And those games sell well too.

I hope Trusty Bell sells big (Blue Dragon or at least DOA4 numbers). It would suck if tri-Crescendo released another awesome RPG that bombed.

Although to be pedantic, it'll bomb because it's on the 360.

Decent sales considering all the outrage on GAF about sales of HM on the Wii being a disaster.

Dead Rising, Bullet Witch, Tenchu Z, GRAW, and Fight Night Round 3 are all part of the Platinum Collection budget re-releases this coming week.

If you consider yourself a gamer, to any extention of the word, HOW can you not buy the trusty bell bundle of grace and joy plus a couple of platinum titles including Dead Rising and GRAW?? Can someone do the math and tell me how much american dollars will a japanese gamer have to spend to get what I mentioned.

If that 360 sales number doesn't move to over 10k, Japan should be ashamed of their bias and declared unworthy of MS' efforts.

MS Japan has been pushing the Core as if people actually want it. The Blue Dragon bundle is a core as well.

I wouldn't buy it, because I'm not interested in any of those games.

Yet somehow I manage to be a gamer. Man, sometimes it's hard to keep myself from exploding due to all the paradoxes!

If it forces them to stop snubbing the Wii...

Oh wait those 360 games are all re-releases?

They should call them "Top 30 Editions" - a collection of the rare few to break the top 30! :lol

I thought it was more like an Animal Crossing without the animals and Nintendo backing. The farming bit from what I've heard is more atmosphere than anything else.

It's more like the most insane Rube Goldberg setup in a game ever.

1) Grow 30 plants.
2) On the fourth year festival give the plants to person who only comes out at the festival. He'll give you a special item.
3) Get 4 of those.
4) Sell those to the lost boy on the 50th mine level (5 minutes per level and you can't die). He'll give you something.
5) Give that to your girlfriend to score points and get 25% of the way to getting her to marry you.

The whole Harvest Moon series is like that. It's crazy. If you thought the Triforce fetch quest in Wind Waker was bad ...

After that explanation, if you're wondering why the series has a fanbase, it's because the games are always extremely charming, addictive, and very relaxing to play.

Harvest Moon 64 is awesome and one of my favorite games.

That, too, is a game many girls love as well.

Now it's down to 22K per week. Just think, by this time next year, it'll have dropped by half again to ~10K per week
unlikely
. The Brain Training phenomena is truly a huge flop, halving its weekly totals every year. :(

Yeah exactly. My wife loves Mineral Town, but is skipping all until Rune Factory because there's only so many you can play. And even then it's probabaly best to wait for the 'girl' version.

The 360 may have had the chance to cross the streams next week, but that damn NG Sigma will stop that. Trusty Bell does look like it may have a shot at number 1 unless one of those new releases is some big seller in Japan that I am unaware of. It should be close between TB and NGS.

Looks like the entire population of Japan is getting in on NSMB. Does Nintendo dare release a sequel within the DS lifespan? I would say stagger the sequels to allow for a NNSMB in the future.

Myself, I'd much rather see any of NSMB2, NSMUSA, NSMB3, or NSMW. As long as the physics aren't too floaty again. =P

I would think Nintendo would release a sequel sometime soon. Even if a sequel totally killed sales of the previous game (which didn't happen with Brain Age), I think it'd be more profitable to release a new game that'll blow up to 3 million instantly then crawl to 5 million instead of just letting the one out now at 4.5 million crawl that extra .5 million, even if the latter is pure profit. How much could NSMB have cost?

I like how all of the bolded ones are still hanging around somewhere in the top 20 a year later.

While I'm thinking about it, it's not that I followed sales until something like 15 months ago, so I wouldn't know, but--weren't legs like these previously only reserved for Pokemon games? (And Pokemon D/P themselves fell out of the top 30 faster than these games...)
