I'm skeptical that Snyder will helm it right now. I get the feeling Justice League is probably going to be his last run in the director's chair for a DCEU film.

The reason they are doing it, but it doesn't feel earned. We don't really know these characters or this world yet

JL Dark is going to be standalone like Suicide Squad. Batgirl will only be connected to Batman, GL Corps will be stand alone in space with Hal coming to earth for JL2
Flashpoint has to be a Flash centric movie. (Ready as fuck for Jeffrey Dean Morgan Batman as a supporting character)

I'd love flashpoint to NOT be a series-wide reboot like the comic was. Flash trying to save his mother and getting lost in time is a way more compelling flash-centric story.
I've been digging the DCCU. It doesn't take fifty fucking films for interesting or noteworthy shit to happen. I'm into pretty much all these upcoming movies too. Hopefully they're waiting to kick and scream about the cyborg movie until they see how he's received in Justice League. I'd really like to see more cyborg. If they have the heroes interacting regularly in their solo movies then superman doesn't necessarily NEED a solo film.
I'll be really bummed out if we never see the payoff for the foreshadowing in Justice League. I secretly hope flashpoint picks up right after the flash fucks up in BvS and warns Bruce too early about superman. He could very easily get completely lost in time at that point.

Flashpoint is a cool story and the narrative doesn't have to be "oh we're doing a reset at the end". I'd never thought i'd say it but the TV show's Flashpoint did an interesting thing in terms of the aftermath, kept everything relatively the same but changes the aspects of the characters lives slightly. Diggle and Lyla had a son instead of a daughter, Caitlin Snow got her powers and Cisco's brother died.
They could easily go for something like that if they wanted to and go the comic book route of de-ageing Batman without touching anyone else. I'm psyched for Affleck to do The Batman but he'll probably be close to 50 by the time he's got to think about sequels for both that and Justice League.
The narrative of Flashpoint at its core is a story about a guy who tried to fix the past but instead broke the future. I think the general movie going public knows enough about these movies and characters that they could see the nuance behind Wonder Woman and Aquaman being terrifying world leaders hell bent on killing each other as well as Batman being a different man because the father survived the mugging on Crime Alley instead of his son.

I wonder if Suicide Squad 2 can be worse than 1.. I mean you would think that would not be possible, but I imagine if Ayer goes all out and does his own movie, it can be even worse.
Everything else sounds interesting and if they will do it more in style of Wonderwoman, it will be great. If it will be the typical Snyder slate of movies...meeeh.

This is one of the few things that BvS did that got me excited for something. I'd be totally down with seeing JDM and Lauren Cohen as those characters.

It never struck me as odd. JDM isn't really a major star and he worked with Snyder on Watchmen. Flash's dad (previously shown in Justice League trailers) is Billy Crudup, Doctor Manhattan from Watchmen. Patrick Wilson (Night Owl 2 from Watchmen) had a voice cameo in BvS and is going to be Ocean Master in Aquaman. Carla Gugino (Silk Spectre 1 from Watchmen) did voice work for the Kryptonian robot / ship in MoS and BvS.

Flashpoint Paradox was great and so was the Batman mini. And even if you didn't like the execution it's a simple but effective story premise that has a hook beyond the reboot fuckery at the end. All they need is a good director.
And we've yet to see a superhero film deal with multiverses, it's fitting that Flash should be the one to introduce us to this wonderful clusterfuck.
I think you just summed up basically everything about this entire undertaking.

I don't see how they don't bring both of them back if they're really going to do this. It should be a case of them just agreeing to do it since they already played the characters.
Also add me to the list that thinks no way Wonder Woman kills the Shazam kids in this. No way in hell does that get the green light.
